The Ukraine / Russia war is nothing but a standoff at this point. Russia holding their position, refusing to give Donbass back to Ukraine. Russia wants possession of Donbass region in the peace negotiations; Ukraine refuses to agree to this single demand. This is what has stalled the peace negotiations.
The EU is infusing military support to Ukraine at the moment, but that is about to cease.
Who defends the EU against enemy attack? NATO does. Who largely finances NATO? The USA does. The USA being part of NATO, would be expected to defend the EU if war broke out.
We just saw EU countries refuse to help President Trump in Iran, "This is not our war". This opens the door for Trump to stop funding and leave NATO!
When the USA leaves NATO, it will leave the EU undefended, and Russia is sitting right next door fighting a proxy war with Ukraine that is supported by the EU.
Trump lifted sanctions on Russian oil and at the same time Russia stopped the flow of oil to the EU. Russia is now selling its oil via cargo ship to the highest bidder; the EU is left without any energy imports.
