Jesus' Fulfillment of Old Testament Prophecies
Multiple sources suggest that Jesus fulfilled at least 300 prophecies from the Old Testament concerning the Messiah. Some scholars have calculated the number of fulfilled prophecies to be around 332, with other estimates ranging from 300 to 574, depending on how prophecies are categorized and counted. These prophecies include specific details about his birth, betrayal, crucifixion, and resurrection, which were foretold hundreds or even thousands of years before his arrival.
Mathematicians, such as Peter W. Stoner, have applied the science of probability to the fulfillment of these prophecies. Stoner calculated the chance of any one person fulfilling just eight specific prophecies to be incredibly low, often cited as one in 10 to the 17th power, or one in one hundred quadrillion. This statistical improbability is used to highlight the significance of Jesus' fulfillment of numerous prophecies.
Good Friday brings the Good News. Jesus Christ, the only Begotten of our Heavenly Father, died for our sins, was buried in a borrowed tomb, because He wasn't going to be there long, then on the third day, PRAISE GOD, He arose from the grave and ascended unto His Father in Heaven. We serve a Risen Saviour! He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Well, Jesus ascended about 40 days later but yea, Amen brother!
Thank you for saving my life Lord. My love. My savior! I hate what you had to go through Lord. I’m so sorry. And will thank you for eternity for what you did for me and my family. Truly Amazing Grace.
Guys nothing is working today! Best computer, & 3 of 4 hand held phones dead, Quicken won't load, hard drive on this ancient thing is full beyond functioning.
SO What is the message?? It is GOOD FRIDAY! I am not meant to be productive today!! No coincidence, right?? I can't be productive even though I have tried!
As long as we have these things, Western Civilization will survive! At least another day until I manage to debug all these creepy things going on with my devices. But not today! It is GOOD FRIDAY! Thank the Lord for reminding me!
Thank you SO much for (as always!) your high value contributions, and most of all, for resetting my own perspective and helping me remember the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior, especially today.
"Good Friday" was made up by the Pope. The Crucifixion happened on a Wednesday. Jesus said in Matthew that the only proof He would give that He was the Messiah was that He would be in the earth three days and three nights, just the same as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights. Friday evening to the wee hours of Sunday morning is not three days and three nights by any stretch of the imagination. Friday is when the women bought the spices, as in one account, they had to wait until after a sabbath to buy them, and in another account, they bought them before a sabbath. Thursday was a feast day treated as a sabbath. Saturday was the Sabbath. The women came to the open tomb on Sunday morning (the first day of the week) while it was still dark. The tomb was already open, the soldiers had already fled, and everything was quiet. For Jesus' words to be true, He was put in the tomb just before sunset on Wednesday, the start of Thursday's sabbath. He arose and left the tomb at the end of the Sabbath, at sunset on Saturday. This is the Biblical timeline given in plain black and white.
Some people say "on the third day," but they don't realize that it used to be that the current day wasn't counted in that.
BTW, today is when my father always planted potatoes and peas in our garden. People would ask him if there were signs or something he went by. He said he only did it because he had the day off from work.
"Three days and three nights" is a Jewish idiom meaning any part of three days. Jewish tradition counted any part of a day as a full day (e.g., Esther 4:16-5:1).
The women prepared spices before the Sabbath (Luke 23:56) and may have bought additional spices after the Sabbath (Mark 16:1). The "Sabbath" mentioned is the weekly Saturday Sabbath. The idea of a "high day" Thursday Sabbath (John 19:31) is speculative and not required by the text.
Sunday is "the third day." Read Luke 24.
"Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre." This is Sunday, continue reading until you get to the encounter on the road to Emmaus - "two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus" Now read down to verses 20-21 - "And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done."
Sunday is included in the three days here. Even if one was to grant that the crucifixion day should not be counted in these three days (which does not align with Jewish tradition), it is impossible to synchronize this verse with a Wednesday crucifixion. If the crucifixion day is included, it would fall on Friday, if not, it would fall on Thursday at the earliest, not Wednesday.
The Emmaus account definitively rules out a Wednesday crucifixion.
All completely wrong. Even the version of the Bible you use is incorrect. It changes the very sense of the sentences. "Very early in the morning" is definitely not at all like the KJV "while it was yet dark." Yours implies after sunrise, while the older version says before sunrise. That's just one thing.
Regardless, it does not matter. You do not understand the concept of a day to a Jew. The day begins and ends at sundown, not sunrise. Just before sunrise, just after sunrise, both are the same day. Sunday. The first day of the week. You can not get around this.
P.S. Just curious, are you a KJV-Onlyist? If so that was an epic self-own, kek.
For God sent not his Son into the world to Condemn the world but that through hime the World might be saved. I always remember that as a Christian it is not my place to condemn but to lift up and be salt and light. The condemnation is on those who do not believe and the vengence belongs to the LORD.
Thanks for the Post IAN!

Now what's this about a "Book of Mary" left out of most of the versions of the Bible??
