They're building a data center on a federal wildlife refuge down the road from me. If you notice, these are all being done in rural areas. That want to force people out.
It's not really that big of a deal. Obviously we can just block out the sun, preventing the AI from having access to their abusive energy demands. They've been planning that one for a while anyways.
Of course then Meta can put humans in pods, extract the heat energy from our bodies, turn it into electricity, hook all of us up to a Meta AI crafted world via Neuralink, and none of us will be the wiser.
Instead of our "real wars" we can wage virtual wars. Everything will be exactly as it has been for the past few centuries. No harm, no foul.
They will contribute to the greening of the planet by emitting the equivalent of 5 million cars worth of beautiful CO2 every year while providing for their own energy need without burdening the existing infrastructure and will even be able to provide energy to the power grid.
Why aren't they building AI centers where geothermal energy is available?
Geothermal energy generates less than 1% of the US power supply. The Great Basin area of Nevada alone has enough geothermal energy that can be developed to supply up to 10% of the US power supply. That would be enough to power 10 large AI centers with nearly zero pollution.
New Mexico also has great geothermal energy potential.
It will consume American energy. They will employ Americans.
The sheer number of jobs lost if this were built abroad would be staggering, the amount of benefit it brings to Louisiana, which was 44th worst state for income growth in 2023.
Guess what, if they bring jobs back to America, it'll consume more power. Get over it.
Wasn't Trump telling them they have to build their own infrastructure instead of relying on our own power grid? They're doing exactly what Trump told them to do.
The Trump administration is pushing for a "bring-your-own-generation" (BYOG) policy for large tech companies, including Meta, to address the high energy demands of data centers.
Policy Shift: Under this initiative, Trump is encouraging Meta, along with other tech firms like Google, Microsoft, xAI, and Oracle, to build their own power plants rather than relying solely on existing utility infrastructure.
Ratepayer Protection: This move is part of a "Ratepayer Protection" pledge, aimed at ensuring the energy consumption of AI data centers does not lead to higher utility prices for American consumers.
Agreement Signed: Meta and other companies have signed onto this agreement, signaling a shift in how major tech players will approach the energy requirements for future data center expansion.
What's the issue again, other than virtue signaling to the left somethin somethin about climate change hypocrites? That's what the left believes, not patriots and average Americans.
This shows you why we will never have personal AI that can do what we really want.
I won't use AI until I can get enough processing power and memory to train my own model on a standalone computer using my own personal collection of over 100,000 books and documents. I don't see that happening in my lifetime. We will be slaves to the big corporations who can afford the electricity and factory-sized buildings full of computers.
And the environmentalist won't say a word
Where's Greta

Isn't that out of the communist play book? Why change if it works? For them
You will live in your 15min city, own nothing, and be happy.
I don't know about the happy part
It's sickening.

Lol the plot of the matrix
Shockingly cryptic and probably no too far from the truth.
I hope the AI bubble bursts soon and turns Zucktard and the rest of these psychos into paupers.
But only after these power plants are built so Louisianans have decades of cheap electricity available...
Sounds good to me.

Meta is the devils tool
I believe AI is one of the devil's tools.
How is that possible? These demons don’t stop at nothing, they destroy everything
Data Center projects are being rejected in many places. Maybe this one will end up rejected in the end..
In Louisiana? Doubtful. The governor is usually involved in big money projects.
Meta is a cancer to the world with ig and fb.
Are we supposed to care? This is a talking point for lefty faggots.
I care

Where is the payoff. They spend Billions today, on tech that will be obsolete in 3-5 years, for a business demand that doesn’t exist

maybe it takes to long to build geo plants
Just imagine the power consumption when they get ASI
In Louisiana? Joy.
Do they even have an AI?
Their site is meta.ai and they run llama models I think
I don't care.

I thought AI was set to replace the hijab workforce?
