A week ago someone posted about St. Francis of Assisi visiting the Pope. Sounds very similar to what soldier Nicole just said - people got caught up with rituals and the hierarchy (which comes with wealth and power) yet St. Francis knew that's not the way to Christ.
There have been many real christians caught within the Scarlet Harlot's tender arms of age and tradition, worldly power, wealth, heirarchy and politics, rituals, legalism, mysticism, and on we could go.
Some end up standing out for confronting the Harlot directly, like the first Protestants (a label which has lost its meaning these days...) or Vigano, while others take different approaches. They damage satan's throne in a myriad of ways!
I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to meet some of these "venerated saints" and discover that they did not approve of their respectively-named "Orders" or whatever other DND label they want to slap on them.
Raised Catholic....I never once saw Jesus depicted wearing a red robe; or with short hair; or as beardless; or as blond. Other than that, it was a photograph of Jesus.
