Supreme Court justices shouldn't be "better than" they should be the absolute best for that job. It's a lifetime appointment. Having a person who thinks it's okay to stomp on the 1st amendment by putting people in jail or fining them for "antisemitism" as a justice is a joke.

I must say I'm conflicted. DeSantis has been a great governor, and he's hardly done. Be that as it may, I would love to see Roberts retire by any means and with all speed. The man backstabbed Americans more than once by siding with liberals for ridiculously trivial reasons, and that sickly smile! He always looks embarrassed like he's been done something naughty. In every way, Justice Clarence Thomas towers over him like Mount Rushmore.
Frankly, rather see him as Sec. Of War than on SCOTUS- We need someone who has some experience in the judicial system, and as teppischfresser points out, they should be the best of the best at it, like Kavanaugh or Gorsuch. Even ACB is more qualified, and the person should be the best of the best, and not corruptable - Power Corrupts...
