Ascension Day used to be a public holiday in South Africa, and it was widely observed and celebrated, especially in Christian communities.... ππ»ππ»ππ»
Pre-1994: Ascension Day was an official public holiday dating back to the Union of South Africa (from 1910 onward). It was part of the traditional calendar of Christian holidays, alongside Good Friday, Easter Monday, and others. Many people had the day off, and it was a day for religious observance, family time, or rest.
1994 onward: After the end of apartheid, the Public Holidays Act (Act No. 36 of 1994) rationalised the list of public holidays to 12. Ascension Day was removed to create a more inclusive, secular-leaning calendar that reduced the number of explicitly Christian observances. Easter Monday was renamed Family Day (though many still call it Easter Monday)

I think we're being pointed to the nature of God and our relationship to Him. It also suggests, to me anyway, that we in this movement are on the right path.

In many way, I believe the Bible is much like the Q drops (or rather, the Q drops are like the Bible, in certain ways).
Future proves past - I firmly believe there are parts of the truth revealed in the scripture that can really only be understood in the context of God's unfolding work. As Paul indicated "now, I know partly, then (aka at a certain time in the future), I will know fully, even as I am fully known.
With the Q drops, we have only really come to understand what many of the drops mean as time has unfolded.
While the scripture is God's word to humanity after the coming of (and before) Jesus Christ, our understanding of what God is revealing has been limited. That fact is borne out by the reality of Christian civilization up until today. War, conflict, theological disagreements, lots of reform and also failures, etc.
The core purpose of the scripture? Not simply for us to access spiritual salvation, but to be able to lay the groundwork to prepare for the Second Coming.
God prepared the Israelites for 2000 years to recognize and receive Jesus, and yet, when he arrived, they failed miserably, as represented by their leadership. Even Jesus' own family disbelieved. Why? Whose fault was this? It was Israels, collectively. Just as America has been corrupted over many years, Americans have to take responsibility for that. Collectively. This why the restoration movement of DJT is so important.
Because Israel's leadership and people failed to recognize and receive Jesus, the had had no choice but to go to the poor, hungry outcasts and the uneducated, and with them, build a new foundation. This becomes clear when you read the scripture itself, aside from theological concepts.
Something that reinforces this idea is the 40-day period of the Resurrection, when Jesus appeared to his disciples after the cross.
There are many instances of a 40-day or 4-based number period in scripture. What is God telling us with this?
God is the God of love, of order, of creativity and harmony. All creation is numerically based. What is the most fundamental number encapsulating God's creative principle? It is the number 4. While 3 represents the trinity of Father, Son, Holy Spirit (the Son and the Holy spirit both being expressions of the Father's nature), 4 represents the fulfillment of the creative principle.
Example, God's nature in every human is expressed in two core aspects - mind and body (aka spirit and flesh). And when these two aspects function in harmony together, they form a 4th entity - the unity. Every human being is an encapsulation of God, God's nature expressed in our spirit, God's nature expressed in our flesh, and the two coming together in us as an individual. 4 elements - God, the divided expression of God's nature, and the unity thereof.
That same pattern is present everywhere at the basis of God's creative expression. 1. God, + 2. husband, + 3. wife, united into one makes 4. a family
This is the reason why, I believe, that the number 4 is used at critical junctures in the history of God's work as revealed in scripture. From Adam to Noah's flood was roughly 4 x 400 years. From Noah to Abraham, 400 years. After Abraham's mistake with his first offering (he slept without separating the pigeon and dove), his offspring had to restore that mistake through 400 years of slavery in Egypt.
On and on, the number appears. Moses fasted for 40 days to receive the Stone Tablets of the commandments. When he broke them in anger (a failure), he had to fast again for 40 days to receive an new set of tablets. (The two stone tablets symbolized the Son and the Holy Spirit, in symbolic form, as a precursor laying a foundation for Jesus who was to come.)
After Malachi, the last prophet, Israel had to wait 400 years before Christ could come. That 400 years (4 x 100) was a period to reverse an restore all the mistake they had made since Moses' time.
Most people think John the Baptist was successful, but in reality, he never followed Jesus or testified to him after at first, initially, baptizing him. In the end, John even doubted whether Jesus was the Christ !!! So, is it any wonder that, shortly after John baptized him, but failed to go with him, Jesus went into the wilderness to fast for 40 days? Why? To restore the failures of the past, and lay the foundation for his coming ministry, when he himself would testify and work to raise Israel.
But, Israel, (almost like American today), had been infiltrated by evil too much, and in the end, they not only failed to respond, but ended up sending Jesus to his death. Jesus had no other option but to sacrifice his body in order to win spiritual salvation for humanity.
Thus, when Israel failed to receive Jesus, and he had to pay with his flesh to open the way for spiritual salvation, a new beginning was required to separate from the past of failure, and begin again, with the "new Israel" aka Christianity, now more than a nation, but to become a new civilization on the world level. Hence, the 40-days of resurrection following the Victory of the Cross. Once that condition, that offering, was completed, Jesus departed, and then the disciples became the root of the new civilization.
If you ever offer to God a prayer or some offering (service, or reading scripture, or anything really) for a 40-day period, this can be a very powerful method for securing spiritual power, because it follows the very pattern God revealed in scripture, and which Jesus himself lived.
There is a lot more hidden in the scripture that historically, we have not clearly understood. Recognizing the significance of the number 40 in God's spiritual war against Lucifer is one really powerful nugget that has been hidden for us for a long, long time. But, as Paul wrote: "now, we see dimly through a mirror, darkly, but then (aka in Paul's future), we shall see face to face." Meaning that in time, more and more 'encoded' content in scripture will make sense, and we can begin to apply it in our lives.
To prepare for Christ's Second Coming. To receive him this time, instead of rejecting him like the Israelites did.
