See it a lot in Minnesota. What always amazes me when I fly to Europe is that there is usually a section of the plane full of Somali families. I always scratched my head with regard to how they could afford to take the whole clan on trips back to Somalia...I think I know how they do it now.

Typically, in actual affluent groups, people who buy luxury vehicles have the means to replace a luxury car if it's stolen or wrecked, without it causing major financial stress. The percentage of their income spent on it is very small.
Fraud is a possibility. Though it’s worth asking whether they’re fresh off the lot new. Or a few years old. As lots of people have been selling off their nicer vehicles for cheaper options. Economically a lot of folks can’t afford the car payments on the nicer shit they used to drive.
So the ‘Luxury’ cars end up on used car lots. Where hood rats and wannabe Gangsters can pick them up for a Song. So they can show off to Friends and or opponents in exchange for street cred.
Ir seems like non-English speaking Middle Easterners that live by me and thrive at Marshalls and Home Hoods on Sunday nights always drive the nice cars. Mercedes, BMW, Audi...

These people are doing well for themselves because they're playing the game unfortunately. It's designed that way to entice others to join the club.
