Understand that Asian companies do not have a "tariff free" trade agreement with the U.S., and Canada does. So by building cars in Canada, the Asian companies can piggy back on Canada's free trade agreement.
Those EVs need to be banned from even entering the US. They are a national security risk. This also includes Chinese robotics - especially those equipped with Lidar function like Unitree humanoid robots or EVs with autonomous driving capacity. Even Ukraine has seen the security risks and have been procuring drones and drone parts from non Chinese sources. Americans need to wake up to this asymmetric security risk.
