Think about “happiness” vs “property”. On the one hand, not enshrining property rights as a core value of the nation seems questionable. On the other, we are seeing now the threat posed by people who hold acquisition and control as higher values than happiness, and our obligation to keep that control from them to protect the pursuit of happiness, and the right to life and liberty.

Our founding Fathers were a gift from GOD, and under the direction of GOD were able to give us a great nation.
So please remember, our nation was formed under the word of GOD, and HE alone is our supreme leader. All of our elected leaders should be required to swear to that oath, we are and always will be one Nation, Under GOD. If you refuse to put your hand on a Bible and swear to this, you are not welcome to lead this nation.
As I Englishman, I wish we could invoke our own Declaration of Independence from the current & successive Uniparty governments, I feel 2076 will be a little too late.

The meaning of "to be happy" was "to have good things happen to you." To be "unhappy" would mean that no good things were happening to you. So, "happy" really was an adjective about one's future, not an adjective about one's mood. And it was a blessing of good fortune. It makes us mindful that blessings have an author.
Thus, "seeking happiness" is a life endeavor, not a license to sit besotted.
