What we call normies do not collect much and most of them own nothing and they are happy, from streaming garbage music fidelity to paying a monthly subscription to driving their new cars.
I never called them normies but I understand the definition. for me I like things that have perceived value and honestly out of 300 million people quit a lot of them collect things like this, plus the world has even more that would go after this one.

Mexico Mint started this with their Libertads and USA seems to finally be seeing how to make crazy premiums and collectible's, not bullion.
for the 1 ounce Gold Liberty Bell with a mintage of 2026 I am seeing upwards to 20,000 dollars.. for a US Minted collectible on the same day Trump is doing this speech.. it is all connected??
however I would suspect every version of the 2026 should be graded and a hot item for some time. I will never be able to get one of those... the Silver Version is half ounce I think and even that is going to be upwards to a thousand dollars if one gets lucky on the market...
The collectible gold/silver/plat/palladuim market is super niche though, but every coin ship and bullion shop will always down play anything like these.
According to Google it is legal tender. From what I know, if the mint produces a coin with a dollar value on it (regardless of whether it is commemorative or not) it is legal tender. No dollar value, not legal tender.
The US Mint is already striking the coins. Incidentally - the Treasury is the parent of the Mint (for coins) and the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (for bills). The Treasury itself doesn't print or strike anything - they tell their divisions below them what to print/strike.
I can't wait to see the looks on their faces if their passport needs renewal the next couple of years :-).
