Obama:
- "State legislatures... have tried to assert power over core election processes including the ability to certify election results."
Constitution of the United States, Article II, Section I:
- "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors" (to vote for President)"
You aren't wrong about the Patriot Act, and you're not wrong that we must be vigilant about the "surveillance state."
However, the Patriot Act didn't give anything to We The People. It took our liberties and privacy in the name of safety. This bill wants to give us the same leverage over the schools. Look at who gets access to the recorded footage. This eliminates any "student says / teacher says" disagreements. This makes communist indoctrination more difficult. It makes sexual grooming more difficult.
My litmus test for proposed legislation is to look at who opposes it. Are the Teachers Unions pushing this? Are they vehemently opposed? Are crazy lefties calling it racist? I don't know the answers to those questions, but knowing who doesn't want this will tell you whether or not it's good for the powers the be.
There isn't a comment yet addressing this so here goes: Obama left all those appointments open because Hillary was going to dole them out. Donations to the Clinton Foundation were through the roof leading up to the 2016 Election, and then evaporated. This is also why RBG didn't retire during Obama's term. They never thought she'd lose.
I disagree with your premise. Q does not state, or imply, that we are too weak to handle the truth. Q says the world would collapse. Think about all of the societal structures that have been built over the years, decades, centuries. If one day everyone woke to find that there entire existence was based on lies, the fabric of society would break down. No one would trust anyone else. It would be chaos. Q is saying that much of this needs to be hidden right now, because society needs time to adjust and create new structures that are built on solid ground.
After writing all that out, I would offer a slight change to your statement that we both might agree with. We as individuals are not weak, but the current bonds of humanity are too weak to handle the truth right now.
Thanks for the verses. Quick question about Matthew 12:31...
- "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
Does that mean that you can skip the full immersion baptism and / or go to church on the wrong day and still be reconciled with God?
I agree, overall, with your message. There are three items that I would like some clarity on. Please know that I approach this in good faith, and even if we disagree on the details we're on the same team.
Three - Is salvation "revocable"? Once a person declares Jesus his or her Lord and Savior, what human actions can undo that Heavenly Seal? And don't we all have unbridled sin in our lives? If we could choose to be good enough, the Cross would be irrelevant.
Eight - Is Baptism by water required for reconciliation with God? Isn't that just an outward declaration of an internal decision? I find it hard to believe that separation from God could be the outcome of failing to do an activity.
Eleven - This seems like a fairly minor detail. Go to church on Sunday. Go to church on Saturday. I meet with my church community on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sunday mornings. I don't keep any of those days "as the Sabbath."
AGAIN - I am not trying to start a fight. I am legitimately interested in hearing more about why these three points made it onto your list. Think of this as a chance to teach, rather than prove. Please and thanks!
Edit - changed the formatting (3 to three, etc).
It did seem a little over the top as I read it, but in clown world you never know!
