Yes. I don’t believe corporate is 100% at fault. It’s the nursing staff too. So many nurses get such a sense of superiority and like they know better than anyone and everyone and in reality they usually don’t. So many of my coworkers over the years have been some of the dumbest people I’ve met and I don’t understand how that’s even remotely acceptable to be taking care of our parents and grandparents. I’ve been at many facilities in multiple states and it’s unfortunately the same in every single one. Even during my first days of schooling for nursing the instructors would flat out tell you that none of this makes sense and you will not be doing any of what we tell you. I remember me and the one other man in the class just looked at each other and that look spoke a thousand words. Don’t get me started on the whole covid fiasco with nursing. I’ve so far managed to avoid the vaccine but man they’re still consistently pushing. On a semi unrelated note i actually had a resident who i would go spend time talking to who they all treated like he was insane but the man was right on the money with a lot especially pertaining to covid. He was the only resident who outright refused the jab and they ended up kicking him out and would have rather had him homeless. He was actually a frequenter of this site along with another lady who unfortunately did have early stages of dementia so anytime she would try and talk about anything pertaining to the industry or Q related she would be brushed off.

All in all the nursing industry does not care about your family. They do not care about their needs. They use their faux empathy and make it “look” good but in reality they just care about keeping a head in a bed and racking up as much money as possible and would be damned if they let any negative image prevent them from doing so. It’s so sad.

There are many examples where a family member genuinely cannot safely take care of their family members. I say this as someone who works in nursing. I often work with dementia residents and they do become a danger to themselves and need constant 1 on 1 care. Where you are right is that the nursing industry itself is entirely backwards. The industry does not look at the residents as people but rather as a number. Facilities constantly prioritize having a head in a bed rather than judging on whether or not they can be cared for by the staff in the building. Residents do constantly get ignored and staff consistently get away with doing nothing in nothing because the industry prioritizes having a number of staff rather than quality of staff. The amount of training and requirements to take care of family is far from professional. The work itself is not hard but when the bar gets set so low you’re getting so abysmal people. I have so many stories of horrible staff members and many examples of blatant sexism against me due to me being a male in the industry. All in all the facilities especially the smaller ones do care about your elderly but it’s the way corporate dictates how you take care of these people is what really degraded these residents. During lockdowns i got so many write ups for actually trying to treat residents with dignity and respect.

Oddly enough for me it was something small. It was actually the news reports on trump overfeeding the fish when he was first in office with the Japanese president. It was so ridiculously stupid for news to report and was obviously not true if you just watched for more than 5 minutes. It got me thinking and I started diving deep into everything and eventually ended up reading about pizza gate more in depth and I just kept going down the rabbit hole

I have omicron right now unvaxxed but I feel like I just have a head cold. This is my second go around with covid first being in March 2020. So far I’m the first and only non vaxxed team member to get it where as almost 100% of the vaxxed employees have had it and have been significantly sicker than I am right now.

I was raised as a Christian and believed for awhile until roughly the end of middle school. I considered myself an atheist for a few year then an agnostic and now I consider myself a Christian again now because of tga but because of trump. Trumps talk of Christian and American values lining inspired me to look inward at myself and inspired me to read scripture again. I started to find scripture that actually spoke to me and made sense of what was going on in the world. Oddly enough I sat down with my grandparents a few months ago and my grandma told me that she got a prayer group to pray for me awhile ago and asked for God to reach out to me in a way that I would understand and would listen. Right around that time Is also when I started to hop on the trump train and stopped being a Bernie bro.

I’m brand new to the area and searching around. I left my state because of my last job as things were getting fucking ridiculous around me. I moved here as I was told there was no intention of forcing the vaccination only for that to be completely changed as soon as I got settled in.

There’s a republican committee meeting this Saturday where I live where I’ve convinced a few people to show up to hear what’s going on. I’ve been giving the opportunity to speak if I choose to and haven’t done any sort of speaking of this sort since high school so I’m a little nervous but I’m ready to drop some facts and call out this bullshit.

That’s the plan. I’ve had a few other workers around the building talking about quitting but I’ve convinced them to hold off. We had a mandate to get the vaccination by October 1st but enough resisted that they dropped it. After Biden’s address on the 9th however they brought it back and said that they would force it by November 1st. Roughly about 50% of us are resisting and waiting to get fired. It’s getting so bad that they had our residents make videos for us begging us to get vaccinated so they wouldn’t lose us as their caretakers. They’re pulling all the stops.

About to lose job number 2 because of my refusal to take the jab. It’s a fucking rough time to be in nursing. I have til nov 1st to get vaccinated or as they put it, “willfully quitting” I’m tired of this but I do not consent to the jab. I’m about to be out of work again. To add, I was also told on for discussing with other unvaccinated nursing staff our constitutional rights and was told by management that work was not the place to discuss such things. Thankfully, those that are not yet vaccinated are holding strong and refusing til the final day. I’m reallly hoping this all ends soon because I’m running out of money and don’t know what I’m going to do. All I know is I will not cave and will live like a mountain man if I have to.

Been battling on the frontlines of Facebook for what seems like years now and at first I was treated like a laughing stock but now I’ve amassed a few like minded individual coming to my side when things inevitably get heated. Many more are asking for information in my inbox. It’s been slow but I do feel people are waking up. The tides are turning.

Gotcha i understand what you mean. I guess it’s company dependent and who’s actually running the facility. Nursing in general is just all over the place and trying to make rhyme or reason for any of it is a wasted effort.
