I am no expert on homeopathy or alternative medicine. I am still researching these things myself. What I have read about the history of homeopathy is that the solutions became more and more diluted because the treatments kept showing that additional dilution caused stronger effects. This is against a lot of our modern understanding, so I get where you are coming from. Based on what I have read so far, the methodology of dilution came about through experimental science. Things just happened to work that way, over and over, in practice. It is not hard for me to believe that an extreme dilution could have an effect, especially if that effect is proven again and again in clinical trials. There are several possible models for why this is, including clusters of molecules in particular configurations. I don't think our current models of science, biology, quantum physics, etc are perfect and fullproof. Science grows by evidence that breaks existing paradigms. In any case, 1 drop of a substance that is extremely diluted is probably going to have the least amount of possibility for harm, right? At worst people are drinking water.
Downvote for even mentioning homeopathy. The AMA has done their job well.

It was so effective that several epidemics were cured more effectively with tools like homeopathy than with allopathic medicine.
