I'm on the fence, bullying is natural human behavior to an extent. The issue is "Nerds" have gone from being something you don't want to be called, to being trendy, which is why "they" continue to group everything in to "nerd" fandom. They want young men to be complacent with their identities as high school kids forever. Get enough nerds and anti bullying campaigns out there and you can guarantee young men will never take the true right of passage "to look inward." That is what is important. I was fat in middle school, and I was teased endlessly for it. Hell this one kid gave me a bra as a Christmas present one time. It hurt like hell, I cried, and my mother assured me that I was a good sweet child and I just needed to be a good person, but my dad. He looked at me and said I was being pathetic. He said that being a truly good person is looking in the mirror and either being prepared to accept the consequences of who you are, or changing yourself until you like who's in the mirror. I chose the latter, and it paid off. I got in the gym, ate healthier and was all of the sudden someone who was athletic, well liked and knew what it meant to sacrifice and persevere. Some amount of that is needed in society to let us grow stronger. That being said the real issue is the parents, they are either raising sociopathic douchebags who go way beyond "bullying." Or they are raising doormats who fall down with the slightest transgressions. It's hell out their for children now a days with the weirdos who raise them. Nobody seems to teach respect, honor, courage, or anything else that should be regarded as paramount when growing up. It's all either, be controlled by your desires, or take the easy way out. Both highly toxic and extremely narcissistic. Just like most couples it seems.
