This generation was born to replace the generation who were sacrificed into the maw of World War One. They were kept hungry through childhood and ordered off to war in exchange for three square meals and cigarettes so cheap they were almost free.
In exchange for being cannon fodder in World War Two, they were given college educations, starter houses, and new cars at low, low prices. Young people today can only weep in despair to see how good the "greatest generation" had it, when they live as permanent renters and slaves to never-ending interest payments.
