This way, it gets the visibility as the dup poster intended, but also consolidates comments and OP gets proper credits.
It's a good idea.
The only way I can think of to do that is a short sticky to get engagement, we aren't in charge of the ranking algorithms and can't really affect them either. It might be worth doing that in some instances, although personally I like to keep the stickies to 7 or 8 and given that a couple of places are reserved for the daily etc, sometimes there isn't room for manoever, sometimes there is.

no worries about the mcconnell duplicate.
It's our job to remove them as policy, but it's not usually a disaster if they get through unless they split up useful comments and analysis.
Btw, I deported several dups this morning. Hope it helps. I report it as I catch it.
I personally removed three from your deports. Yes, it's useful, mods are a little thin on the ground right now, but don't let it be onerous.
Duplicate clearing will be at different levels at different at different times of day.
The moderators all specialise in various different things and at this time of day I tend to do stickies and duplicates and that kind of front of house stuff. I slow down around now and other mods take over, I'm in London time zone.
