kwiztas66 has the correct answer. This is one of the "green tops" that supports the "white top" Sea Kings that share duties as "Marine One" whenever POTUS flies in them.

Wictor's military history knowledge is very good, and very interesting. Unfortunately it makes him think he has everything figured out and you are an idiot if you disagree on the smallest of things.

Quite like a whole lot of posters on this board, actually.

The other issue with Wictor comments about "Marines" in the last 12 hours is that he sees the Osprey green-tops flying around and thinking that they are trying to hide Marine troop movements. Those green-tops are the counterpart to the Marine One white-tops that fly the president around, and carry support teams and media. They don't actually carry troops.

Agree. I like Wictor and he is clearly very knowledgeable about certain things, but he's too inflexible and dismissive of other opinions. As are the Cates brothers. They are all one way communicators, and "jealous gatekeeper" is a perfect description. As such, they should only be taken as one set of inputs to consider alongside others.

Exactly. That change, and others, were done purposefully.

Whether its fake or not is irrelevant. The Joint Chiefs only play an advisory role...they have no operational control of the military. The command and control leaders are the Combatant Commanders who report directly to the Secretary of Defense, and ultimately, to the President.

The key concept here is compartmentalization. Bannon hasn't been in the know in a long time. Even some still in the inner circle don't know the whole gameplan. Take everything you read with a grain of salt.

i missed it, what did he say

He's the head of the Joint Chiefs. The JC are advisory...they do not have operational or administrative control. The relevant "head" of the military is the Secretary of Defense.

From that vid is one of the best Youtube comments I've read in awhile:

Brett Kowalewski 19 minutes ago I hope this is Trump’s doing, and not Darth Vodka’s.

One would assume they were authorized to do so beforehand

What you are referring to is a serverless approach. This is actually a misnomer, as server hardware of some type are ALWAYS required. What this approach does is allow you to not have your systems running on a specific named server that you've configured. You can run them on Amazon's AWS cloud and Amazon dynamically moves it around its various servers on demand based on the load and system needs at that given time.

Also Hadoop is a tool for big data, not Intranets. You might log into your Intranet to access Hadoop-based data, but the software running the Intranet itself is not Hadoop.

You are right that Internet and Intranet are not the same thing. However you are wrong that a blackout of the Internet will have little affect on Intranets. The answer depends fully on where each company's Intranet is hosted. The term describes a logical area, not a physical one. Many companies host all their servers somewhere other than their physical location, and many don't have dedicated lines between the two locations. Thus they are reliant on the internet to get data back and forth. This setup can easily be made to be HIPAA (not "HIPPA") compliant too.

The rumor that I've heard in the IT InfoSec space is that particular outage was indeed intentional, but it was Google scrambling to address their exposure to the Solarwinds/Sunburst hack.

He was getting harrassed on Youtube so he went back to QV. Which working perfectly fine right now, at least for me.

"All" is quite a bit of a stretch. Rome is a large and very old city, its bound to have a lot of street work going on.

Theory: he's signaling that it will be a transition to a new administration, but it won't be him and it won't be Biden. The military will roll up the bad guys beforehand, including Biden, but Trump knows that he is too toxic now, and it would not be accepted by half the country after such a military action. Thus a White Hat with clean hands and pre-existing credibility on both sides will be inaugurated.

Not sure who that might be. And its just a wild-ass theory.

Outlook under Office 365 still uses local files for offline access. These are the old .pst files for POP accounts, and the new .ost files for IMAP and everything else.

Depends on whether they are using a client-side email program like Outlook. Those ARE stored on the HDD.

If they use only Outlook Web Access, or Gmail via the web, or some other non-client app, then you are correct.

That photo from Pelosi's office does show Outlook on their desktop though.
