And they could be coming via traditional transport. There are staging places all over this area and no need for vertical landing. Air space is limited in dc.

Marines do get called for guard duty. It’s called the US Marine Corps Reserve. They do one weekend a month and two additional weeks a year training. All branches of our military have reserves. There are also inactive reservists.
But just this pic of an Osprey doesn’t mean much to me. Where/when/how and landmarks are helpful.
One thing people need to understand is that the military doesn’t broadcast operations. You can see things and think, omg shits going down but it could be as simple as bringing in corpsman with vagisil to treat the jock itch those boys in DC have from standing around in dirty socks and skivvies for days on end. It really could be anything. I’m not minimizing it but there are many, many facets involved in an operation this big.
I’m trying to write this without a lot of snark because I understand this is all unprecedented for our country in modern times and frankly, terrifying for civilians especially those who try to be well informed watching various news sources. Just try to focus on getting reports from trusted sources on here and check on your loved ones, especially any elderly parents or grandparents or young people with kids. Make sure you have a plan to meet if needed and plenty of supplies for at least two weeks. We’ve gone over this in other posts. Instead of worrying, be proactive. If I was there, you’d get a hug and a shove out the door to the store.
