Closest I could get was from Respectfully Quoted: A Dictionary of Quotations (Suzy Platt, 1993), pg. 229, which checked the attribution. She stated Jefferson couldn’t have said it because these words weren’t in use during his era:
“Inflation was listed in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1864, but the OED gives 1920 as the earliest use of the word “deflation”.”
From there I double checked 19th and early 20th century Google books, and it looks like what she wrote is correct.
But if not Jefferson, then who? The question still stands.
The problem isn’t the Salvation Army. It’s that damn ISJC. They’ve been located within walking distance from the UN since around 2007-8, which means in bed with UN agenda for over two decades—they talk with them, meet with them, publish their propaganda. I’m convinced it’s top-down communism inflicted on the rest of the army, who seem to trust them beyond reason.
AND they’re in bed with the UN. It’s that nasty International Social Justice Committee again. The same one that told us to apologize for being white & fascist.
I truly believe that SA is a good organization with a metastasized cancer.
With Patrick Byrne, it’s always about Patrick Byrne. Every story devolves back to him. His big drama is himself. Even when he actually does good stuff, the subtext of Patrick always rumbles along underneath the narrative. I don’t him to show me anything! Because his personality taints every tale.
Whether he’s right or not, he’s no hero. He’ll say anything to press his advantage. My response to his asinine tweet:
