What a different conception you have from me. What about the millions of proudly non-partisan Americans? Sure, if you don't like any of the candidates there is always write-in voting, but that joke runs out after a few elections. Skipping voting in a race where you like none of the candidates is a valid alternative to the write-in.

Did you miss the part where I said "with no proof"? Obviously, if proof is shown first, that's a different situation, but it has to be done well before even a whiff of military intervention, or we have mass civil unrest. Not quite a civil war, and the federal bureaucracy will kind of limp on, but the ability to truly govern will be shattered in enough areas for it to be effectively shattered across the board. Whoever finally manages to obtain long-lasting, solid control just wins being king of a massively in-debt trash heap.

Nope, I meant to reply to you. The movie isn't good if fans can guess the twist ahead of time. No one is expecting a scenario where Trump/WH is less in control than hoped, yet Trump still wins in 2024. Which is why that's where I'm placing my bets. It feels right narratively.

It was really disappointing, after how tight Animal Farm was. To be fair, there's more that's good than just the first and last chapter, but the middle is so chewy that it really sticks out in my mind, and kind of overshadows the rest.

To me my biggest issue was the laziness of having your screeds not portrayed by the themes and characters of the story, and not in dialogue, or even internal monologue... But by having your two main characters sit down to just read a self-insert character's books. And now you are also reading straight-up non-fiction political philosophy in this supposed novel. Great, chills-inducing ending, though.

There's always Thomas Jefferson's personal Bible where he took a regular bible and cut out all the bits about the Divinity of Christ. That one's interesting, reads more like a book of philosophy.

"Clinical trials should be outlawed". Okay, that's it everybody! Medical science had a good couple thousand years or so, time to halt it! No more science necessary!

Gee whiz, it's almost like the other side enjoys voting by mail over standing in line, because they think it's secure

Um, unfortunately, not quite. Maybe enough time to fight traffic and get home, but not enough time to make tendies :(

Not in LA/Portland/Seattle/etc, at least

This is the first time a meme has been actually funny in quite sometime. Or maybe I just intrinsically find deep ocean humour compelling
