It's the same reason the borders were left open. The government looks the other way while making policies that encourage it. I own a construction company. I would never hire illegals, but I see these jobsites filled with people that don't speak English. It's right out in the open, and these companies know there is no punishment other than losing all your labor to an ICE raid. If that happens, they just hire more of them. And I agree, there needs to be hefty fines for hiring illegals. That would put an immediate end to it, but the government knows that the problem is so bad that a policy like that could (most likely would) create a massive economic disruption. I think there needs to be a grace period- get the illegals off your staff in one year or face steep fines and litigation.
Pharma ads are not trying to sell you drugs. Pharma is bribing networks with lucrative contracts that come with restrictions on what they allow on air. They are using your money to propagandize you into believing the drugs are safe so they can continue to rip you off while you are suffering and broke. Yeah, this needs to come to an end.
These bans are incredibly easy to get around. This is a slippery slope that will be used to usher in a national digital ID. If you care about the kids, pay attention to what your kids are accessing online, don't rely on daddy government to protect them because they won't.
There is a lot of shit opinions about "atheists" on this sub. There are many different types of non-belief, just as there are many different types of beliefs. As a Christian, I am sure that you would not want to be thought of as the same as a Muslim or Hindu, right? Same for us. I'm an atheist, but I am a very different type of atheist than the screaming blue-haired leftists you see all over the internet. I would prefer to not be compared to those "people". We are not the same. Many of us here share a lot of the same ideals regardless of who or what we believe in. For instance, I am very much against abortion, very much pro individualism, liberty, and freedom. I am also quite aware of the fact that the US government is populated with evil people that put their personal gain before their constituency- and something needs to be done about it before it's too far gone. Leave the division to the leftists, we are all here for the same reason (I'm not talking to the agitators and FBI here, they can fuck off).

You really think the false dichotomy of D vs. R is real? Here's a hint- they are all working together. The fake division between R/D, black/white, rich/poor, young/old etc. is all intentionally built to keep us fighting with ourselves so they can fuck us over. The sooner people wake up to this fact the sooner we can fix the problem, if that's even possible at this point.
