hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
Amen. When Jesus taught his disciples to pray the Jewish people prayed all the time but Jesus personalized Creator Father from a national God who was Father of the Nation to a Father to individuals, was A New concept
That is beautiful. Thank you.
Hear-Hear!
So sorry you were abused! ? happy you found a wonderful life with healing, happiness and love. God Bless you for your service and deep love for our country. ???
Amen
Thank you for using the true passage with trespasses, not debts.
The word means both.
https://biblehub.com/greek/3783.htm
memory is gone today, can you remind me which version says debts, and which says trespasses?
All versions say debts now, trespasses was erased from our reality. Mandela effect. A satanic entity of some kind hacked our reality, it targets bible verses aggressively.
thanks and interesting that you mention the Mandela effect, because I just saw this title about an hour ago, and realized I had never thought about the ME and the Bible, even though I've know about the ME for years. https://youtu.be/dsU7CaNiod4
amazing times indeed.
Yeah some reality edits are helpful, some are demonic. Just different ET races, I believe, making different types of changes.
Good to see this discussed here, "... who trespass unto us" is the way I learned it. Not saying that "against" is an Effect but the "debts" version is. Lion shall lay down with the Lamb, Judge not lest ye be judged, etc.
Donaldiscool, I haven't seen any changes that seem to be helpful? The only common thing I've noticed is that the current versions are "lamer" than originals, less "well written" sort of thing?
As Coptic Orthodox we have always said trespasses. We also add in "and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one for Thine is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever"
That’s how I remember it too. Darn demons messing with our heads... and bibles.
If I remember correctly the debts part became popular with the Catholics, when I visited the Antiochian Orthodox parish they used the word debt as well. The one Eastern Orthodox prayer book I have is from the Russian rite and they say trespasses also.
Trespasses is one of THOUSANDS of changes made to all bibles in existence. It’s just the Mandela effect, some sort of reality editing technology.
I don't think you understand, we use the word trespasses in my Church, in the Church. I am Oriental Orthodox, the Coptic Church was founded by St. Mark the Evangelist, all the Bibles you are using are Protestant interpretations of the Bible. Some have things taken out of them, some have new words added to fit our language today. But what you are trying to say isn't how the Mandela effect works, because if it was a Mandela effect then even my Church wouldn't use the word trespasses.
Also a side note in the original Coptic for Our Father we say instead of Give is this day our daily bread, but Give us this day our bread of the morrow which means our bread of the coming age.
I'd be more than happy to help you understand where the Biblical canon came from and how we ended up with the different translations we have today (like the message yikes ?)
Thumbs up on that....!
We always use trespasses and not debts...
