Ok, it's pretty simple. This Mr. Gaul has formed a club using DJT as the face of it. Any money collected is done so using DJT as a draw. Trump is letting everyone know that he is not involved so he's not held liable should any shit show ensue because of it. Also, money collected is money that has to be accounted for. Let's say this guy collected $1 mil. Then, sails off into the sunset, leaving donors high and dry. Who are they gonna go after? Some nobody? Or GEOTUS?

This has less to do with the name “Patriot Party” and more to do with the fact some random dude is trying to affiliate Trump with the patriot party he created, saying Trump is involved when he’s not.

This doesn't mean Trump isn't going to form his own party, and that it won't be called the Patriot Party. It just means Trump wants to make it clear he didn't authorize this iteration or version of the Patriot Party so people don't donate money to this committee, but, instead, wait for him to make his next move.
