I have never put on a mask since all this started. Ever. I live in a pretty conservative town in a blue state. Not a single store in town has ever hassled me much about masks. So yeah, getting told I wasn't welcome at a store over a mask was a bit of a shock. First time I've been "kicked out" ever.
Not gonna lie, it bothered way more than I thought it would. Haven't been able to stop replaying the incident in my head since. I had just been able to build up enough confidence knowing I could walk into any store without fear of being humiliated. That's gone now. How do you all manage this kinda stuff? I've written corporate a message, but I'm pretty sure I'll just get a canned response. This thing has got me BUMMED out, man. Like.. bad. Makes me want to never leave the house again.
Anyway, sorry for the weird post but I don't really have many friends or family to talk to about this stuff. Thanks for reading.
Should be a badge of honor, not something that shakes you. Go get kicked out of another now, soldier!
I've lost count. I do it now to watch the expressions change when I say "no"
Walmart greeter yells "Sir, sir!" I turn around. Her voice is muffled but I know what she is saying so I say, "I'm sorry I can't hear you with that mask on." She steps closer and starts to speak. I stop her with my hands out stretched. "Whoa, whoa, what do you think you're doing? Six feet. Don't you know there is a pandemic." Her eyes squint hard. She is pissed. I do my best impression of a Trump shit eating grin and turn around and continue walking. My area is blue but my state is red. Fuck these idiots.
Had I been told to leave I would. But I know walmart has a health exception to the mask thing so it's always great to walk in unmasked and breathing freely while dumb bitches try to flex their non-existent authority over me.
Thanks man. If anything else, I do know with complete certainty that I am on the right side with this. I will never ever wear their mask.
Next time bring a mask with you and put it on if asked, then go fill up your cart with a bunch of stuff, take off the mask and go to checkout, when they act like assholes leave the cart and walk out.
I love your attitude !
Lol I keep a mask with me whenever I go to a store. Then, they ask me where my mask is and I just pull it out and say here it is. So I just walk past them and never put that damn mask on the whole time. Lol
I'm sorry my fren. I understand. Ostracization and social disapproval feel bad. I got yelled at in my local park by some random guy I wasn't even near for not wearing a mask and it was similarly an experience that left me shaken. Humans don't like confrontation and the masks are clearly such BS it feels extra shocking/insulting to be confronted over not wearing one. Sending you a hug.
I'm sort of prone to confrontation but it makes my husband really uncomfortable when I choose fight over flight so I just told the guy to "have a nice day," and walked away. Honestly, I'm not sure that polite dismissal wasn't the best diss. These maskers are such control freaks. All the same, the confrontation bothered me for a few days.
Or in their car alone. I see it every day.
Yeah, I've been treated pretty bad before. Been yelled at by other customers and been harassed by employees. But I hate confrontation, so I just always ignored it and went about my business. But this one hit a bit different. I had to leave the store. So humiliating.
I'm so sorry fren. It's super shitty humans are being such dicks about this. Even though it may be hard to remember it now, you did nothing wrong. That store should treat its customers better and you are the one doing them a favor by shopping there.
Exactly this!
I told my wife that I feel so stupid and have this dumb feeling of guilt like I did something wrong. It's fucking crazy, never thought I'd feel this way.
Humans generally want to get along with other humans, cooperation and social cohesion are how we function as a society. These maskers are taking advantage of the fact that humans want things to go well with each other to enforce bad policies that don't make sense.
All you have to say is you medically can't. I have had to do it 3 times over the past year. Otherwise, I walk in like I own the place and do my business and leave. I get the looks but I really don't care because the honey badger doesn't give a $hit.
Yeah this is normally how things go. First time I've ever been told I couldn't shop at a store. Even after telling them I was medically exempt.
Well, that's ok then. I talked to a cop (a decent friend) and he said one of 2 things can happen. 1) you can explain your exemption and the cop and they can take your side and force the store to let you in or 2) the cop can take the side of the store and ask you to leave. In that case, leave otherwise you can be arrested for trespassing. It all depends on the cop.
Yup beverly hills cop taught many people that most important lesson.
I understand completely. I had an "incident" at a local store and I was very upset afterwards. What really made me the most upset was how sad it is to me that out of a hundred people in the Costco, I was the only one who wasn't "compliant". What we need is for everyone to become non-compliant, but for that to happen, people need to understand how big a fraud the whole mask thing is.
Yeah, this is exactly how I feel. I have family that are against masks but still wear them because of the hassle. I don't get that.. at all.
If you're self declared exempt, then they have just discriminated against you.
Yup. I told this woman I was medically exempt. She didn't care. Wrote corporate and doubt they'll care either. Such a hopeless feeling man.
you need to have a spiel ready and it needs to be intimidating. you can borrow this one: excuse me, but are you familiar w/ the ada? americans with disability act? no? let me inform you: you may ask me two questions...one, am i disabled? i am. two, is your disability affected by wearing a mask? yes it is. if you ask me anything else, you are opening up not only corporate but yourself personally for a big fat lawsuit for violating hippa regulations and discriminating against the disabled. hope you have a big bank account, sweet cheeks, bc i have a hungry hungry lawyer. you have a nice day now.
make a big show of getting the person's name. you can even get a friend on it; make call..."hi jen, it's brownguy. is lawyer badass in? no? well, have him call me back, i've got another one for him. yes, yes, the check did come in...i should send you flowers! have lawyer badass call me when he gets in from court!" have fun with it! twitch a lil, let loose w/ a lil tourette's or do a bob goldthwaite imitation.
speak to a lawyer who specialises in discrimination cases.
mind you, if you aren't drowning in lgbttxxyy+ letters it might be a waste of time these days.
the alternative is to wear your exile like a badge of honour. you stood up to them, didn't cuck out and wear a mask and you still have your dignity.
that ain't nothing Fren, especially in these dark times, that's proper hero stuff.
Just buy a rainbow bracelet or necklace (a cheapo). Then they assume ur apart of the gay mafia lol.
Thanks man. Yeah it's about the only positive thing I can think out of all this.
I have absolutely no desire to cave in and wear their mask. Not after this, not ever. I'll figure things out but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shook. Sucks.
it's just shock, it'll pass. A nice shot of whisky will calm you down, try to do something calming/distracting, don't dwell on it too much
Thanks man.
no worries, wwg1wga :)
Good on ya. I have to wear a mask at work but i usually dont cause i work alone on a forklift, my boss tries to get me to tell drivers and stuff to wear their mask and i told them straight up im not participating in this bs and he can fire me instead if he wants, he didnt lol.
I'm going to be rubbing everyone's noses in this shit for the rest of my life after the truths come out. I'm a shitty, unforgiving person but fuck them all.
So I left out the details of the incident, here they are.
I walked into the store, shopped for about 20 minutes. Had lots of interactions with other employees. All super nice and had nothing to say about masks. Even saw another couple not wearing masks. Cool.
I'm in an almost empty aisle when the "store manager" confronts me about facial coverings. She's very condescending. Telling me things like, "I'm gonna go get you a mask okay? You're gonna wear a mask, okay?". I told her I couldn't wear a mask due to a health condition. Her reply was, "why? What?.... Well, I don't care and it doesn't matter. The CDC says you still have to wear a mask or face shield". I kept telling her that I simply couldn't wear a mask and she kept repeating that bullshit line about the CDC (which is totally false anyway).
Anyway, I knew this was it. There was no way this woman was going to listen to anything I had to say. So I asked her if it was corporate policy to NOT honor medical exemptions. She said "yes". I asked for her name and calmly left. The entire thing took 2 minutes.
Got home and collected myself. Wrote a message to corporate detailing the entire incident. I fully expect a canned response and nothing to come of it.
So yeah, that's where I'm at right now.
Good just reporting it. At least make it annoying for these elites.
Yeah, honestly have no idea what else to do.
You should write more then one email. Also find the other emails. No one likes being badgered by busybodies so be a busybody and drive them crazy.
You handled that better than I would have. I think I would have told her calmly to provide me randomized trials that show that mask actually work. Then when she cant and becomes belligerent I would have less then calmly have to tell her to fuck off. She sounds like a crazy karen libtard
Thick skin is your friend and all you did is grow yours a few layers thicker. It will get easier. This is how you will wear it with pride; understand that absolutely every human who has walked this earth worth their salt has endured the same. You are simply following in the footsteps of the 'greats'. Now, go out there and do it again, knowing you will survive if it happens again...and others just might take courage from you and rise up and do the same.
Wow! Sorry this happened to you. The whole mask thing is about power and control. I stopped wearing a mask recently and won't go into a place where they are mandated. Recently went into Walmart and Home depot in the same day without my mask. I was prepared to say that I am medically exempt if asked but nobody did.
I wouldn't let it get you down. That's part of the control. Keep going without your mask. If you retreat then they win.
Yeah I totally didn't expect this feeling. Can't shake it for some weird reason.
Are there no other stores where you live? Only one choice?
It's a smaller town so not a whole lot of choices.
I live in a deep blue shit hole and went in to a store and was immediately almost physically attacked with people heckling me. I finally left and it stuck with me for the next couple of days. Depressing indeed
Yup. Weird feeling.
Feels bad man
say very kindly and apologetically and quickly that you have a medical condition. by law (HIPAA) they aren't allowed to ask, but if they do tell them you have damaged lungs and it restricts your breathing. I've hardly ever had anyone give me a hard time and they usually don't ask for detail.
if they push back, I just calmly say ok well goodbye and take business elsewhere. and hopefully they recognize the error of their ways at some point.
also, note that most of the time these people demand the mask because if they own the business they don't want to be shut down by the commies or if they work there their boss insists for same reason, or can be because people or too dopey to see ridiculousness of it.
given opportunity to talk with the person demanding you mask, just tell them that they covered from government penalties because they asked you and you told them you have a medical condition and beyond that they are forbidden from asking about your condition by HIPAA.
of course this won't work on airlines and certain other areas where they've gone bonkers and are ignoring people with genuine medical conditions, it's ludicrous.
good luck
Thanks. Yup, I told her I was medically exempt. She didn't care so I just calmly left.
I've argued with too many. Couple that with trying to red pill hardcore for 4 years and I just don't have the time or energy to deal with it. I just want food and to go home like u. Look for an insta-cart type deal. Let them shop for u and u can meet them somewhere maskless to pick up ur goods out of store. Costs a lil more, but the time and headache saved is worth it imho. I cannot look at large groups of people in masks anyway. It used to be funny, but now it's just sad. Also it's utterly disgusting that so many Americans would rollover like this. I often wonder do they even have a red line ?
Don't let it get to you.
Just let the feeling run its course, out of your system, and continue on without the mask. That's what I do. Been kicked out of a couple gas stations / convenience stores (or at least refused service if I don't put on the mask) so I just leave what I wanted to buy right there on the counter and walk out.
I live in a smaller town so there isn't much variety in grocery stores.
I already don't go to Costco because of this ridiculous shit. Now it looks like I won't go here either. Just feels messed up.
So the messed up part here is from a purely economical aspect it seems like the stores would be looking the other way to survive right now. They have to know, "if I dont get people in house they will buy online and then I as a store owner die" . This obviously mainly applies to smaller stores. Big box can fuck them selves all day long I guess. But the smaller stores are slicing their own throats to be hard core like this. Oh well if you dont want my money then screw you. I have several stores that are dead to me b/c of this stupid crap. Keep you head up!
Sorry you got booted out. I try not to wear a mask and if questioned I tell them that the mask makes me sick cause I get overheated and faint so I can't. Live in hot AZ so most of the time they leave me alone. Don't feel bad of being kicked out, be proud that you are standing up as a free AMERICAN!
I was yelled at at a cross country meet- outdoors of course. I argued loudly, then bought some popcorn and ate it for the next hour as slowly as possible while they monitored me from a short distance ready to pouch and kick me out. I can play their game too.
Sorry to hear that. It sucks. My wife had that happen to her when we visited Wyoming. She was in tears when she got back to the hotel.
I went into the same store many times during the week we were out there without a peep spoken to me. Why? I'm 6'5", 260 pounds, built like an Australian brick shit house, with long hair, packing heat, and "a serial killer's stare". It's safe to say, nobody has messed with me in many, many moons.
Welcome to the club.
I lost three jobs over mask non compliance also.
As far as the stores goes: I reject them in return.
I buy from small shops that I have walked into and proven that I was not only respected but welcomed for my stance. They are mostly ethnic shops from Russia and India. They know.
I also buy from a farm online that delivers locally to many counties around their location.
I also buy very few basic items from Winn Dixie because they were the last of the supermarket chains to cave in to the mask police, did not donate to BLM ( I chased their donations ), and I have not had a problem ever with not wearing a mask while shopping there neither have I heard of anyone having being mistreated there. Never had attitude from their employees like I did with the punks from Publix.
I vehemently reject Publix Supermarkets because they were worse that Wal-Mart in pushing and trying to enforce masks and they donated to BLM and celebrated Antifa on the 4th of July with choice of colors and decoration that subliminally gave the message they were anti American.
Go back with a full gas mask and black rubber gloves. Scream if anyone gets within 5 feet of you. Ask why the employees aren't wearing 3 masks. Demand they get anal swabbed.
I just make pretend I’m deaf and throw sign language and walk away
I totally get it. They really know how to make you feel bad for not conforming. Just be grateful you aren’t like them ❤️
I went to a local convenience store with out a mask to refill my 52oz soda. Filled it up went to the counter to pay and the clerk said: "First we don't do refills due to Covid. Second, I cant sell to you without a mask" I said: "Its already filled, just take my money". He said: "No". So I said: "Well I don't want to be accused of stealing" and promptly dumped it out in the floor and walked out with my empty cup.
I haven't worn one yet - can't go to Costco but that's ok - I go into Publix and Walmart and no one has said anything to me except an idiot customer who was leaving Publix and I was walking in - She said where's your mask - I didn't realize she was talking to me - I said excuse me - she repeated it and I told her Shut Up and walked in the store. The manager even bagged my groceries and never said a word !! If you go to Walmart - on the sign in small letters it says if you have a health condition you don't have to wear a mask - tell them you have asthma - but they can't even ask because of hippa laws !!???
Hey man, i know not everyone has access but i wear a motorcycle helmet a lot cause i ride and its the perfect tool agaisnt these maskers. No one will dare ask you to take it off, you feel badass, and its blatantly against the rules in non covid times. Maybe go buy a hilarious Halloween mask( there some funny ones on amazon) and put that on instead of a medical mask. Have some fun with it man, yeah it sucks but when this stuff happens you can either decide to laugh or cry..
You should have told them that you'd be suing for racially profiling you lol
The funny thing is I told my wife that I was so tempted to ask her:
"Why are you only wearing 1 mask? Why don't you wear 10 masks?? Don't you care about me? Are you RACIST????"
Lol, I was just kinda shocked and couldn't really get the words out.
Universal mask use
1: when prolonged leads to possible infections being worse (of everything, not just apparently the only sickness and reason for death in 2020 /s). If "you are keeping your germs from others" they are staying with you and multiplying, and due to China's bioweapon apparently losing most of its effect by around May, it leads to it being anything but a cold for anyone under 60.
2: Assuming masks keep anything in, a virus only survives if it spreads to hosts, so the top % (probably top 50% since cloth is not that strong of a barrier) evolve to be stronger, more virulent, and possibly more deadly.
3: The obvious use of community division, lack of emotional communication, and blaming "covid deniers" for any future lockdowns instead of blaming the people who hid it's existence early on and are benefitting from these lockdowns.
I disagree with the people who say it is worse short term to wear a mask. Every scientific fact before April 2020 said that they only help when right next to an immunocompromised person and only if repeatedly cleaned and replaced, otherwise they cause more issues. Personally I wear them when around old people I don't know and never anytime else.
Do everything in your power to make this "the abnormal" not "the new normal"
Next time say you already had covid, you're immune.
Develop a resting bitch face, like your a force to be reckoned with. As a patriot you are just that... a force to be reckoned with.
I live in a blue state. You get used to it.
I treat it like a gun free zone sign. In Illinois I could get tagged if I carry concealed in a GFZ. If they have a sign it's that owners wish to have no guns there. I don't go in unless I have to, and then it's unarmed. Same with a mask. If there is a sign and I have to go in then I wear a mask. In my state I'd be doxxed, canceled, and made an example of in five seconds. The constitutionality of mask wearing and conceal carrying are not hills I'd want to die on
I know the feeling. When I got kicked out of (multiple) stores for not wearing a mask, the feeling inside was always the same. It was the most intense rage, anger, sadness all rolled into one.
