I love that Florida is red!
? I wouldn’t mind some cool weather for a bit longer. Fl always looks like one foot in the fire
Lol careful what you wish for.
I was in shorts on new years in south Louisiana. This morning the highway was closed due to ice. No one here knows how to deal with that shit.
You are very correct haha. People here don’t know how to drive when it rains...and it rains a lot. Snow/ice would be a disaster of democratic proportions.
Same here in TN. Hasnt been like this in over 20 yrs. Not much equipment and not prepared.
America's penis, staying red hot. America First!! LOL!
sounds like a reason to declare a national emergency . if ya know what i sayin
Hahaha it’s bright and sunny where 45 is haha ?
Interesting ? ?
Sooo.... hubby had to ‘check’ me, lol.
But in my defense - born/raised & still located in a green area on the map... he said that I don’t know what real cold weather feels like, let alone the damage it can do; ice is heavy and can cause power lines to break, blah blah blah!
But he was too proud! Finally able to school me, lol.
My husband schools me all the time. I got the same thing when I wanted to move to South Dakota. He is from Michigan and has traveled the world some places during winter from being in the Army. He knows what real cold feels like and he HATES it. I love snow and cold weather. He says i'm crazy I don't know what real cold is.
Yeesh!
Those temperatures are crazy!
And that's despite John Kerry doing everything he possibly can to heat up the earth.
Hot day in FLA today!
92 in miami lol.
I feel like I won the lottery somehow, I got Desantis, so little to no Covid crap, barely a whimper out of the usual hurricane season, and maybe two to three cold days total, with Not even a nip out of that monstrosity of a cold front.
I am disappointed as well. We got nothing from it either.
Yeah, I actually enjoy the winter in Florida, I wonder if they did plan this storm with Haarp, or whatever they would use, probably consulted Trump, and he was like, no, hell no, leave that part alone, I'm on vacation until March.
I moved to SE NC. Was a red state when I moved here from Upstate NY. Now we have a Dem Governor, SEC of State, AG and State Auditor. They control ALL the elections here. Been here almost 6 years since we moved South. Since I have been here we have been hit with at least 5 Hurricanes. I was flooded out of our home from Hurricane Flo in 2018. It took us almost a year to rebuild and get back and took another 6 months to re-andscape. Being under 6 feet of water for a week wasn't conducive for plants to live. Even our lawn died! I was just getting ready to enjoy my life again when COVID hit and locked us down. FWIW we have had the worst luck since we moved here. Now I wish I had moved to Florida.
I'm not seeing the relationship between this and a central communications blackout. Any hints?
Central Continental US hit by cold weather causing power issues and hence the comms blackouts
That's interesting. I never thought the word "central" could mean a geographic region, instead of the whole U.S. or the whole world. We'll see
Texas = 8 Florida = Fucking 92
How does that even make sense?
We’ve been out of power for almost 24hrs... in Houston TX... fortunately cell service still working
Most of South Texas- San Antonio and surrounding areas are below freezing- almost unprecedented—- lots of power outages- below 30 for three days- weird
Don't you just love the deep reds of FL? It's not even that hot down here. Nor does it feel that hot. This colorful infographic is meant to put people in despair. Notice the focus is on the desparaging temps. The moment I saw this, it elicited a slight, short lived feeling of despair. Doesn't matter that I live in Volusia County, Fl near Daytona, nor did it matter for that split second that those temps aren't what is actually recorded, or that the rational part of my brain knows all of this. Nope. The "fear" and "despair" regions activated, even if only for a fraction of a second. So, DS goal of using fear based "logic" and eliciting a fear based response, no matter how short lived, was met.
And this has the same affect on EVERYONE, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Doesn't matter the education level. This will be the result. Every. Single. Time.
Food for thought, for the next time you see weather "news," or any other news, like this.
NG deployed in TX https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2021/02/15/texas-national-guard-deployed-help-residents-warmth-power-issues-continue-winter-weather/
UPS Worldport in nearby Louisville KY shut down tonight due to inclement weather, first time since it opened in 2000 source
Weather manipulation. Again.
