Wait, this doesn't make sense. If you keep the schools open, you can then most certainly use the Democrat-backed, Teacher's Union-approved propagandist curriculum. It's harder to do this when the schools are closed and you don't have the kids centralized in one location, and due to working from home, the likelihood for parent-focused home schooling goes up a hundred-fold. Now parents can actually observe what their kids are being programmed with.

Normally I'd agree, but they control dissemination of propaganda online via places like Reddit too

Yeah the kids only get red-pilled if the parents care enough to teach them to think.

Except that many school districts are coming up with ways to keep parents out, like signing things that say they won't listen to classes. Not sure how the hell they'd enforce that and if my kids were still in school I'd NEVER sign it.

Eh with common core, the schools are doing a really good job of keeping kids uneducated all on their own.

– Gesirisi 4 points 5 years ago +4 / -0

Yeah but wouldn't you like them to be even more uneducated? Don't set small goals, dream big.

Lol

I guess it depends on their parents. If kids are homeschooled by their parents who love and care about them and their education and choose a decent curriculum that focuses on the mastery method instead of the spiral method, the kids will get a FAR better education in half the time. Public school wastes so much time. I read a study once that looked at how much time a public school teacher spends just correcting behavior. On average around half the day is spent getting kids' attention and correcting bad behavior. That brings actual teaching time to closer to 3-4 hours, and from those I know that homeschool their kids, this is about the amount of time they spend homeschooling. And the rest of the time their kids get to be kids. Heck my sister sometimes spends more time helping her kids with their homework than other moms spend doing all their kids schooling.... and the homeschool kids I know have gotten a much better education. My sister's kids are so smart, but they read and write way below their grade level because of how they are being taught. It's awful.

The public schools are awful. They are one of the most awful things in our entire country. If I could choose to abolish public schools or the central bank, I would probably pick the schools. That'd be a tough choice though actually!

Lol really tough. I'll take both please. I'm greedy like that hahaha

They are just sooo awful. I encourage every parent I know to at least strongly consider homeschooling. There are so many resources available, now. You can give your children an incredible education, and it's really not hard. You can research and buy whatever curriculum you decide is best, and find some great educational games/materials. Many of these things are cheap. There are printables you can get for less than $50 that are filled with reading and writing games that will go through several grade levels. And for that price you get a ton of materials.

You are exactly right!. I homeschooled in the 90's and early 2000's before it was a thing. I certainly didn't do it perfectly. But I am glad I tried. My adult kids are pretty conservative because they didn't get a steady indoctrination from leftist teachers. Turned out to be good people. Faith, family and curious to still learn. Now there are so many great resources on the computer. I learnedto teach at each childs pace and to use each ones learning style. So much time wasted in public schools like you said. Hard to counter all that in a few hours in the evening with your children.

If you instill a love of learning in your kids, then you've done your job, so way to go! The love of learning is the greatest gift that can ever be given and something public school tries to stamp out. I'm fortunate that although I did go to public school, I've always had a very curious nature. Everyone gets some gaps in their education no matter what. I had a horrible world history teacher, so I learned nothing in that class. It's a big gap for me, but I love learning, so I've actually studied and learned more about world history now that I'm an adult.

I do find it interesting that almost all of my close friends and my husband were all homeschooled. I'm drawn to homeschoolers lol. I think it's because they are truly independent thinkers. And you are totally correct that it was much more challenging when you were doing it. It's so easy now with all the materials and resources that are available. Many are free or very cheap. If God ever blesses my husband and I with children, it's not even a question for me.

It's weird... gas in my area has fluctuated a bit but has mostly stayed consistent in the high-2's to low-3's.

Of course for me personally, I pay a bit more for my gas of choice because it's a station that I have to travel 15 mins out of my way to get to because it doesn't contain corn juice (ethanol).

For me, it's been just under 2 for a while now, ever since gas prices went super low when they were dumping oil or whatever the hell happened. Since Biden got in it been steadily climbing. Filled up last week and it was 2.50

Very few people actually "voted" for Biden.

The rest was ballot fraud, computerized cheating, vote rigging and switching votes from Trump to Biden (or throwing away and incinerating military ballots and Trump ballots).

Don't mistake... Biden never got into office through legitimate means. He is illegitimate.

You beat me to it.

But there are people who did because "orange man bad". They are the ones getting buyer's remorse now (or should be). Thease are our red pill hopefuls.

The ones that voted for him "because liberal" will never get remorse and don't care what he won't deliver on. Fuck these people.
