He said if he were to consider a 2024 run he agreed with Dan that announcing his candidacy timing wise would be around or after the 2022 primaries. He also went off on how great the vaccine is too.
I take these MSM interviews with a grain of salt and don't buy into the overarching topics and instead look for the crumbs.
What do you expect Trump to say? "No, actually I'm President right now." It would cause an uproar. Trump would get arrested. The obstacles need to be carefully removed first.
Agreed. Same with the vax. I get why he pushed it to help open the country up, but I am still confused on his vax push and their safety when he could just stay silent or say it's a choice without actually supporting it.
Read between the lines, in the same interview he referred to legal challenges regarding announcing a run in 2024. What would legal prevent him from doing that? As it sits right now he is a one term president, 2024 would be term two...unless he's going finish out the rest of Biden/Harris term once that blows up and then run for his OWN second term.
If Trump completes the remainder of Biden's term he won't have "completed" two terms when the time comes to announce and a run for president in 2024. Also, if he were to formally announce that, the baddies would know what he was up to.
I know replying to one's self is cheesy but interesting find to add to my previous post.
22nd amendment excerpt:
"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."
If Trump is speaking truthfully, and wants to follow the law properly, he either has to serve less than two years of Biden's term to be eligible, they have a legal loophole to avoid that limitation, or he's going to pressure the states to invalidate the 22nd. Whichever way that goes, I really hope it's not the "less than two years" option, things are getting pretty bad pretty quickly.
Or we could have, say, 1 year of this fake administration and 1 year of the military running the country until POTUS comes back in January 2023, which would be after the midterms.
Trump speaks strategically. He gives hints at what he means but you have to pay attention and you have to have a good memory.
He has said that it seems that he can get the media to do what he wants by playing reverse psychology. I.E. he says he should have been against building the wall then they would demand for it to be built.
He has also said that that maybe he should be reimbursed for his first term.
He's waiting to see if the elections mess is cleaned up first before pumping hundreds of millions of his own money into a race that may not be winnable again.
Here's the interview. Optics as always. https://bongino.com/ep-1509-interview-with-president-trump
Agree. Make them chase squirrels.
That just says he would make a bid again to run in 2024. It says nothing about what he is doing now does it?

Didn’t he say that on Hannity’s show? He said he couldn’t comment on running in 2024 because of legal reasons

I can see why but at this rate there wont be a country by then
Optics are important

Well maybe he would wait until after 2022 because something could happen between now and then (making him POTUS) and he wouldn't have to?
