I thought the production values were pretty high when I watched it, and also the level of research was pretty high too. I was surprised by that.
Seeing Trump do the handshake made me wonder at what level that is taught?
The movie indicated a crossover point, going from happy Shriners in the local parade, to evil monsters destroying society.

I know a guy who joined the masons about 5 years ago, and it was one of the first things he learned. He would always try to do the shake to us and needless to say we don't hang out with this guy anymore (pretty sure he's in prison now anyways)

Yes. The thing is, that’s what they do. The higher-ups use other masons as pawns. What makes it so devious is that even a president (and I’m not just referring to potus) must answer to someone above him in the hierarchy. The organization comes before anything else. So if he broke rank that would make sense, but he also could be doing what he’s told, as problem-reaction-solution is exactly how they do what they do. I can only speculate, IMO, the likely prospect is multipronged where endorsing a vaccine released before its time would be the move that ultimately caused the least harm in the bigger picture.
