Im in my 20s and ready to prove all the old heads wrong about the yougins being lazy. Im not lazy. Im just not ganna wear a mask all day to please a manager.
I live in nyc. If i was near you somehow i would apply for your work right away
Good on you my friend.. keep that attitude and success will be yours.. easier to rise to the top when competition is rare.. this “old head” is encouraged !!
Yeah may work for the idiots, but good luck finding people who are not lazy. I am 54 and work circles around those half my age. It is very disappointing seeing it and knowing when it comes to work time I have left that time is no longer on my side
I hear you brother. Im 55 and the owner and I do twice the work any 4 of my newish laborers do added together. I was pushing wheelbarrows today because the pussies couldnt do it without dumping every third one. I have 2 guys that started in the last 6 weeks and theyve already called in multiple days. I have 3 girls working that all have bigger balls than these boys.
In other years they would have been fired with the second call but Im desperate. I have so much work, more work than any time since the dotcom boom, but dont have enough guys to do the work.
I used COVID as an opportunity to quit my job, never as able to get unemployment because someone filled out half my information and they never verified I am me I just gave up with bothering. I have no intention of getting a job again either, I am happy now, I get to go to church be with my kids and work on Iconography. God takes care of me. Sunday nights before our trailer broke we would go out and collect scrap metal to turn in. Recently a church friend (who considers me to be a sister to him and I see him as a brother) offered my husband a job which my husband accepted.
Orlando doesn't pay a living wage, it's to expensive to buy or rent here. I am not interested in wearing a mask or taking a jab. Poverty is humbling and I enjoy it. God takes care of me when I am in need and I want for nothing.
We never both worked, it was always myself who worked. It is different now, but a little bit better I feel. I don't do just Iconography (I have actually never sold an icon, when that time comes I don't know if I can) but I do sell prayer ropes and make a little bit of money from that. The church takes care of us a lot but I put back in the work that I can for the church!
I use to work for IKEA, before that Universal Studios (Harry Potter) and before that Cracker Barrel.
He doesn't work all the time, I have to push him. He complains a lot about his diabetes but doesn't actually want to change his diet or go to a doctor to get it fixed.
We live with his parents, have the entire time we have been married (12 years now) I can't do anything to get him to change to work more. I leave it all up to God. It's a very complicated situation in detail. It doesn't work because he "works" it works because God is in control.
The accepted path of getting a job when your 21 and being a wage slave to some tyrant woke company, being forced to wear a mask and get the jab is now over. Remember 80% of people are compete sheep when you give them power even in a small scale they become tyrants. Run your own small business that provides enough to feed your family and live your life. Working some “job” just to make a paycheck is the worst thing you can do for your health
"run your own business" is easier said than done and 10x less easy now COVID lockdowns have destroyed all the small businesses across the world! Klaus doesnt want you owning a business he wants you as a serf to big tech and the state.
What is truly pathetic is that more than half of the 18 to 30 year olds that come to me looking for a job dont even have a driver's license. Half of those never have had one.
Im in the suburbs to rural areas west of Detroit. Even if I were in Detroit they have a lousy mass transit system. Busses only. In the Motor City we drive cars, trucks, suvs.
St. Basil the Great is the one who convicted me a lot, the book On Social Justice is what made me accept how I live is a blessing and learn to be okay with being poor.
We had an Uber driver last week that was on his break from valley metro, our public transit. He has worked there for 17 years and said it's so sad that the only people riding are crack heads and homeless people. Apparently it's free right now to ride. He has seen very few of his regular riders go back to work. He often has to stop the bus and kick people out for trying to smoke crack in the bus. He said he sees first hand everyday how the stimulus checks just gave these people drug money. So sad
On the day the stimulus checks came out last year, a couple od and died in our apt. Complex. They had 2 small kids in the apt and they were in there alone with the dead bodies all night by themselves. I spoke to a family member and they spent the whole thing on drugs. So sad for the kids.
The new generation are a bunch of cry babies that need constant pats on the back for doing a mediocre job. Don’t even try to give them constructive criticism or any suggestions on how to improve, that will only cause a complete meltdown. They also expect double pay for doing half the work expected.
Honestly many businesses deserve this. They pay shit, unemployment pays more to do nothing and employers refuse to increase wages for patriots who are willing to work properly on the books unlike joggers or illegals. Also most small business makes their employees wear a mask or take the jab. They deserve to go under and have been becoming more obsolete year after year as they refuse to evolve. The worst tyrants are in small towns and one day Amazon won’t make anyone wear masks or if you don’t care about wearing a mask why wouldn’t you work for a company like that vs small town minimum wage business.
Im offering 2 weeks wages as a signing bonus and 20 an hour for unskilled laborers. The kids that come to me are all pumped up until I tell them its not payable until theyve had 90 days worked. Then almost every single one of them walks. They cant even bear the thought of working for 90 days. It is very disheartening.
And skilled tradesmen are commanding double the wages they got just 2 years ago. Which isnt all bad when you consider wages in the trades had stagnated since the 90s when NAFTA was implemented and our border was ignored. The biggest problem is that wage has jumped that much in just the last four months and with fuel and material costs skyrocketing its hard to keep my prices in line with costs. The last thing a builder wants to hear when all his costs are rising that his contractors are hiking prices too.
We are producing a generation that wants something for nothing and like Mrs. Thatcher said socialism is awesome until you run out of other peoples money.
It might turn out to be a good idea to avoid working in close proximity with people who have taken the jab until we find out more about what they might be shedding/transmitting.
https://drleemerritt.com/ has a good video on what might be going on.

I'm glad your husband works but that's literally the only reason your scenario works.

Learn a trade. It is very satisfying at the end of the day, drenched in sweat and covered with dirt, to step back and say I built that.
Those things and my kids and grandkids are my legacy. I teach them all those same values.
Please teach them how to maintain a car.
I've seen too many young people, not know how to check their own oil or change a tire!

I'm 29 and only got my license at the end of 2018, and haven't driven a car since I passed.
But I live in the UK and never needed to. I live 10 mins from London so walk or get the tube everywhere lol. Saves me a fortune.

Eh... the Uber generation as I would call it.
St. Basil the Great is the one who convicted me a lot, the book On Social Justice is what made me accept how I live is a blessing and learn to be okay with being poor.

Oh my gosh, this breaks my heart.

Interesting, do you also force vaxx and face mussle? because i would accept minimum salary if i'm guaranteed none of those measure at work.
Nyaah! The feds got you out bid.
I’ve seen so many help wanted signs everywhere- once the stimulus $$ ends you’ll get applicants.
Yup, it seem that some people enjoy the COVID vacation and want to make it permanent.
This shit happened in the UK years ago... the affect is a generation of chavs and lazy fools.
UBI is a bad idea. Nothing like destroying the human spirit.

Am looking to hire an artist to help start-up a comic book project.
Just advertise no vax or mask required.

Firehouse subs here in this town I live in, had a sign saying, "Want your stimmy? Work here! Up to $15/hr!" or something like that.
If I happen to drive past Firehouse, I'll try to take a pic.
