As a regular agnostic, I have good news---this is a research project instead of a religious movement. People are not called upon to "believe" or have "faith", in the complete absence of evidence to support it. We are asked to research, read, educate ourselves and others as to facts of history and current events. Blind belief is not only not encouraged, it's actively discouraged. It's hard to believe $600,000 could do this much damage. That's like a year's worth of research budget for a handful of people. If it were that easy everyone would be refinancing their house to work on world domination plans as a side hustle.
$600k USD is like $3m+ CNY. So that could be part of it. And it also could be that there was way more than $600k given to these entities outside of a paper trail.
