Could also be an attempt to garner sympathy from the west; "How dare you accuse us of a global pandemic when millions just died!"
They won't blow the dam just for a cover-up. The dam provides electricity and flood protection for a huge percentage of China's manufacturing and agricultural base. Blowing the dam would make a double digit dent in their economy, kill tens of millions (possibly hundreds of millions), and destroy much of their food production for at least a year.

Pharoah wouldn't let Moses's people go because a dictator's power is measured in how many slaves he controls. China would absolutely care if a couple hundred million of their slaves were drowned or starved to death and they would absolutely care if their work could not be done due to flooding or failure of electrical and industrial systems.
when you have a billion people to spare... a few million less mouths to feed to gain narrative control is worth it.

I've read some statistics, 300,000,000 could die almost immediatly, the wave resulting from the flood, thanks to the valleys and canyons in the region, would hit Shanghai, Chinas main financial hub and where their main stock exchange is located. Could be an accident due to incompetence, or the cabal clearing tracks, but the CCP surely doesnt want the dam to go down, It would cause a social, economic and hydric collapse. It would completely destroy China as we know it.
Oh, and there's some 11 nuclear power plants directly down stream. Who knows If their safety protocols (If there's any) can counter mass flooding.

The presumption in that scenario is that the dam gives way all at once. But it could crack and crumble over a longer period, the way Oro Dam was failing several years ago. It would still take out everything to Shanghai, just not as big a catastrophe.
Who said it isn't ? Those aerial photos we saw last year could be fake, but the dam's durability and reliability got revised downards time and time again. And an american engineer they called to check the dam and do a report as propaganda heavily criticized the structure for being built on cheap concrete and low quality steel, and using an unsafe model (the dam has no foundation. Only thing holding the water is the sheer weight of the structure, which consists of giant concrete and steel blocks just placed into the ground).

A collapse of 3 gorges would be the death of the CCP. It was their grand project. Their out would be to nuke it if/when they are sure it will fail and attempt to blame it on the west. CCP plays the FF game too. Either way the Chinese people lose. I see one way to avoid it. The people would have to rise up and hang every one of the CCP then lower the dam by 1/2 and take the associated loss of electrical power.
Check my comment above. It would be the ultimate disaster, and it might bring forth a complete meltdown of the CCP as their government would take death blows on every front. Only an almost apocalyptic event that would severely impact world economy for decades to come could ever hope to provide the cabal enough of a smokescreen to crawl back into the shadows and hide . Maybe belief in Christ implies indifference to corporeal or incorporeal life. It just may be the equivalent of being in the kitchen or in the parlor. From what I gather from NDE accounts this is the kitchen, and the parlor is nice. (Don’t get stuck in the basement)
Of course this all goes back to deeper questions of why we believe what we believe, which is another topic. Nevertheless, being dead isn’t the worst thing that can befall you, and that’s not even a question of belief.
I don’t think anybody is advocating intentional destruction of said dam, but given the nature of CCP it’s going to fail eventually, which they surely realize, but have deemed acceptable loss. Sad, but not our fault.

Patience. I feel the dam will go in one of these rainy seasons. It's a structure that's impossible to reinforce, and it will fill to max in these seasons. The straight line of the dam is now a winding line. It's just a matter of time, and I am a very patient frog.
Nobody in CCP wants to admit the dam is a failure and draw down the water. They will reap what they sow.

I think it blows this summer. This will impact everyone, really. The epic loss of life-pretty much unprecedented. Then supply chain problems all over the world. The dam is the biggest in the whole world, beating up the Itaipu dam built in Brazil. The creation was ordered by Mao himself and the building was a giant piece of propaganda in tandem with the Olympics to present China as a superpower and world player. If it falls down, China would be ripped apart and thoroughly humiliated.
