I've been telling anyone who'll listen to me down here that DeSantis should be Trump's VP pick. I'd hate to see him leave FL, but us Floridians CAN'T be selfish when it comes to a man like DeSantis.
The end of the article says "You decide if these are real", and no source for the emails was ever provided.
Take with a spoonful of salt."
No need for a spoonful, but I understand your point. However, Pence's actions on the 6th lend credence to the theme of treachery in these emails. Does it mean they are real—no—but it doesn't mean they're fake either. Pence proved himself an actual traitor by his deliberate actions. Therefore, I err on the side of real rather than forgery. Consider the dates of these emails, the number of these emails, the use of specific lingo like "rule 9", and the fact that an image editing software wasn't used, but an actual emailing platform. Now ask: what purpose did these serve when they first leaked? Why did Paul Ryan step down so early in POTUS's term?
I feel like this is a part of the show. Trump even tweeted that it will be harder for pence to do the "right" thing. If Pence had overturned election results there would have been manufactured and real riots all over the place. Pence certifiing was the right move but I'm sure terrible for him personally.
Respectfully disagree, pede. Pence could have sent it back to the state legislatures in those contentious states to determine. Because of his decision to move forward with the vote, the masses at the Capitol were all upset and created ensuing turmoil. All the deplorables would have been happy with him punting it back to the states. If any Antifa rabble rousers still wanted to riot they would have been exposed. Possibly, Ashli’s life would have been spared. We will never know. Constitutional lawyer/professor John Eastman said Pence had the authority to send it back to the states.
Legal authority has very little to do with politics. I do understand where you are coming from and I've thought the same exact things. I'm just leaning towards this side for now. We can never really know but I do enjoy speculating for fun.
Trump. I don’t know the actual count but I think way back MonkeyWerx was keeping track...there were over 17, or 19 attempts on his life? This was a huge one and Pence/Ryan were caught. msm...crickets.
Keyword is story. In reality, Caesar—like Trump—was hated by the corrupt political elite because the common people of Rome had a genuine respect and love for him.
Eh… that’s looking at it too simplistically. The Republic was already in tatters from decades of civil war. No way the old structures could hold together in a burgeoning empire. Caesars assassination was just confirmation that the constitutional republic, who’s rule of law, was based on oath and honor, had fallen beyond repair
Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus returned power to the people. Caesar sought power. Maybe Caesar wasn't a commie-pedo-demon, but that still leaves the dictator thing.
Gaius Julius Caesar - Born 100 BC.... Died March 15th, 44 BC
You're regurgitating a revisionist retelling of what happened. The power Caesar used to correct the long abuses and negligence of the Senators was reabsorbed right back into the ranks of the political elite. There was no return of power to the people because the people—primarily the lower and middle classes—immediately broke out into riots and eventually a civil war with the elite class. Caesar was no tyrant in his political climate.
Yet it was tribunal authority (power of the people), not senatorial rank or consulship, that gave the emperors their Authoritas along with military command their Imperium.
The senate never really held any real power after that and was more of a status and social club, so I guess you could say, in a way that Caesar had accomplished what the Populares had set out to do.
Rome carried on under Augustus under the illusion that the Republic had been restored. Little did they know
It probably took until crisis of the third century for the nakedness of the tyrannical dictatorship to be revealed to the people
But when Cincinnatus was appointed Dictator there was a functioning Republic. By Caesar's time the Republic had already been dying for decades. He may not have been able or willing to ever lay down his Dictatorship as did Cincinnatus or Sulla but he was the only thing holding the remnant of a dying Republic together. The similarities between then and now are striking.

florida needs him

^^ For some reason I can't reply to the sticky above this comment, so I'm posting here.

To spend time with family I think

Certainly a possibility. We may never know I suspect.
If Trump brings him back, then we’ll probably have our answer
True.
I do believe he's a Benedict Arnold, but what does this email mean, exactly?
Rule 9 is a euphemism for assassination
Wow, that's crazy. Thank goodness, we have God watching over Trump.
Pence and Ryan attempted an assassination. Pence on AF2 headed outta town flight turned-back attempt foiled. Emails said it ALL.
attempted on who

GEOTUS
Pompeo wished him a happy birthday on Instagram today. Lots of conflicting signals recently.
He was trolling him.
obama schiff pelosi biden warner nadler schumer and on and on
I would personally go back in time and execute each of them myself, if I could.
And...Trump knew.
Caesar was a tyrant. Brutus was the hero of the story.

His assassination led to the Fall of Rome.

Well said. Thanks for elaborating.
