So, not wanting to start a panic but I just had an interesting encounter at my local Walmart. I was looking for KC style ribs but was only finding baby back - lots and lots of Baby Back ribs. Yet, here was a Walmart employee putting MORE ribs out. I had also noticed that all of the cases where the various cuts of beef and pork were also stocked to overflowing. I asked the Walmart guy stocking the ribs if he had any KC style ribs or where they might be since I wasn't finding any - he had a case he was about to put out so while he unloaded the boxes to get to the ones I wanted, I asked why they had so much meat out (steaks were stacked 6 high, for example) - his reply:"We were told that there's going to be a food shortage and not to expect any shipments for at least two weeks and they were told to put everything they had out on the shelves". I pressed him for more info but all he knew was that the 3 Walmarts in our town were going to be affected - he had no idea if this was regional, nation-wide or just in our town. I live in NM, BTW. I called my son in CO, to give him a heads-up and to see if he had heard/noticed anything similar where he lives. He was unaware of any food shortages looming but did state that about half of the gas stations in and around Colorado Springs where out of gas because there are no drivers for the fuel trucks, or at least that's what he heard the reason was. Anyone else have any similar stories or observations?

try as they will... nothing can stop what is coming
i will eat squirrel meat if thats what it takes to see justice
Don't eat the squirrel brains though dude!
you use the brains to treat the skin to make leather squirrel slippers
Honestly, follow the homesteaders on Instagram. They have sooo much good information! From using brains to tan hides, to canning your vegetables, which ducks give the most about of meat, you name it....
Excellent idea! I've got hundreds of squirrels on my property. Any recipes?
Stock up on cream of mushroom soup.
That stuff makes everything taste bettar ?
Soak in salt water overnight. Roll in flour, salt and pepper, fry till crispy on the outside. Put fried pieces in dutch oven with a little liquid, braise 45 minutes till tender. The meat will fall of the bone.
I am copy and pasting as I write this! THANKS!
A family member recently started a small business and told me his main supplier says there will be shortages of everything soon.
Pay drivers what they are worth and you wont need jabbering foriginers working for free tearing up your equipment.
the driver shortage before covid was always advertsing for the truck schools. theyve been pushing that since the 90s.
now its actually getting real as many old drivers are retiring and the companies cant get people hired.
problem with the hiring is that theyre not offering more money. Fuel tankers pay is garbage you can do almost anything else and make more money.
Biden also did say a couple months back that we will be having fuel shortages.
I guess I missed Biden saying that - I don't pay much attention to what the POTATUS has to say.
That's kind of the conclusion I came too also but a shortage IS a shortage, no matter why it's a shortage. However, Walmart operates their own trucks through their own distribution network. Maybe the shortage is occurring before it gets to Wally-World's network, in which case, it will effect other grocers as well.
Lets not forget that many truck drivers were assaulted last summer by the BLM and Antifa crowd. A number of truck drivers at the time vowed never to deliver to liberal infested cities ever again.
Makes sense went to local grocery store and regularly sort steak maybe 10-14$ was like 26$ or something...etc
Yeah in NC meat prices have gone up dramatically. I noticed steaks that were rough $12 a couple years ago at $18-$24 now. Its crazy how much meat has go e up. I've even noticed it with chicken too.
Get with local farmers, buy a 1/4 or 1/2 cow. We have t-bone in the freezer, was about 4.50 lb.
The Hamburger is best weve ever had. Used to take 1.5-2lbs of store bought chuck for a taco night. Now is 1lb and there are left overs.
1/4 cow will keep for my family for a year. This year we also got a hog, so we have 130lbs of ground pork, chops, pork steak, bacon, etc. For $250.00.
Between the two we dont buy meat from the store except chicken, and seafood (just have to learn to fish and thats done too).
Amazing how nasty store bought meat is once you have farm fresh.
Thank you. I'll have to look into that.
DO THIS, and I can second that, since we've been buying direct we haven't had restaurant or store beef again, it's awful in comparison. We paid more than 4.50 a pound but it was from a small operation, black Angus, grass fed, no corn, nothing GMO at all, lean and tasty! Haven't done a hog yet but we need to clear freezer space since we loaded up on a chicken deal...
Also, stock up on good flour and make your own bread, get a machine to knead and rise it (do NOT use a mixer, it will burn out the motor). Find local dairy farms for milk and eggs, you'll be amazed at the difference between real whole milk and store junk, eggs from healthy roaming bug-eating chickens with strong shells and golden yolks versus anemic eggs with paper shells.
Not even a few years ago less then a couple months ago.
Cell phone network service in my area has been wonky these past few weeks.
I normally get LTE, but lately I keep getting stuck with H, 3G, or nothing.
The kicker? This area has 5G...
Throttling everyone's service so they switch over?
That's what I was thinking too.
Fine with me, I'll just bring my phone out less. I functioned before without cell phone and I can do it again.
Same here. Verizon
I've heard that ranchers/farmers are auctioning their cows/pigs in record numbers because feed is sky rocketing in price and they can't afford to feed them.
I'll have to dig into that, see what I come up with.
heard it from neil johnson on YT. Says the local auction house usually sees 3-400 cows every couple of weeks and lately it's been 4000+
Depends on your area. Indiana was selling hogs for 100 ea., big loss, because once they get over 200lbs, its difficult for processors to cut them up.
The issue here was not availability, but the processing, too much demand, not enough people to cut them up. Tyson and other big packers were sending people home, not receiving and cancelling orders, which caused a backup in supply.
Farmers had to dump direct to consumers, who had to cut them up themselves.
At least locally, those in the know now have overflowing larders full of meats.
Feed only had a small impact. Around here, feed is made locally, so supply is ample. When you cant unload your animals, however, you dont want to dip deep into your feed supply and cause issues, so you sell direct instead.
Interesting. Thanks
Major drought out West.
Guess I'd better go meat shopping tomorrow.
I'm in NM too and our shelves have been barely stocked for months, in all the stores.
I have 300lbs of beef, organically grown by my own Son.
I live around Colorado springs there is no issue getting gas, I buy gas daily and havent had a single problem.
Ahem: https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/bagged-pumps-at-gas-stations-across-colorado-linked-to-trucking-industry-shortage
I just saw that and came to update my comment.
All i have to say is fake and fucking gay. I live there and it's not happening, media induced fake panic.
Could be - Like everything else, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. So, if as you postulate, this is a media induced fake panic (aka "fake and fucking gay"), why? If being orchestrated by the black hats, create panic to keep people under control - if by white hats, wake people up to the fact we did not have these problems under PDJT (the actual end result no matter who is orchestrating, IMHO).
My son said it's mostly along I-25 Pueblo through COS, he has had no problem refilling at Sam's though.

This guy is a good example. No shortage here! (Sorry for yt)
Yes.
Like it or not, many economies and their own currencies are dependant on the US economy.
When the US booms. So does MUCH of the world. Likewise a recession or depression will cause the world to tank.
GME alone will destroy most of the worlds economy.
They always said video games were bad for us. ?
