Isn't that literally against the law? I'm sure some pro bono lawyer would take you up on this. It'll look nice on their record, cuz this should be an open and shut case if this receipt is real. You should also look and see if there even was a "white privilege fee" anywhere in their menu. Otherwise, that's outright theft, dude.

That's an 18% increase. Many restaurants have on their ticket software an option for an automatic tip, and 18% is one of the options.
It is entirely possible someone changed the name of the automatic tip function set at 18% to "White Privilege Fee". This sounds like the work of some woke waiter.
18% tip on a carry-out order? I don't think so. I would have left the order on the counter and walked out telling them to go "eat my white privilege". Without the name of the restaurant on the receipt, I do have some misgivings about this, but it is fun to trash talk.
It's not an uncommon thing to have a tip automatically applied to a restaurant take out order, or rather, I have encountered it before on several occasions (places that received no repeat business from me).
Of course, it is always a good idea to be skeptical of anything for which there is only one piece of evidence, especially something like this that can be faked. In this case however, what is presented does match both the capabilities of the machines that create these tickets, and the practices of some restaurants. The addition of wokeness into this process is not that much of a stretch.
I recall seeing posts a couple weeks ago claiming restaurants in a few big cities were going to start doing this because dining out is racist or some woke bullshit

We’ll, I used to own a business (been out of it a few years, tho) and it was a law back then that you couldn’t “penalize” customers who paid by card by adding upcharges to cover the bank fees.
So, instead, I would offer “incentives” to customers to pay with cash.

Just add the charges into the price and then everyone pays it regardless of whether they are paying by card or not.

It's part of the agreement a merchant signs when they accept a major credit card. So it's not "illegal" to do the surcharge, but it's against the terms of accepting the card as payment and the merchant can lose the ability to accept that card as a form of payment.
