Tokyo is a rough spot because the Japanese don't fuck around when it comes to compliance with rules. There are costs and benefits to living everywhere, this is one of the costs.
Pfizer and Moderna both use the same mRNA technology as a basis, so, flip a coin. There don't seem to be any notable differences between the two. Getting one of the Chinese ones (which use killed virus) is not an option, I guess? Novavax should be finishing up their protein-based one soon; if there's any plan to roll it out in Japan, that would obviously be preferable.
lol first of all you cant travel for 2 years after you take the shot if you are still living at that point. Both of those will kill you within 2 years so take either. I find it hard to fucking believe people think it is worth their life just to travel. Planes cause blood clots if you have been vaccinated. In the early days of flight they said often parents did not fly on the same plane given the danger. Many do so today. Same thing here. Show her the evidence re: side effects. Is divorce an option ? If I had a gun to my head me personally I'd take the bullet. But if thats not an option then I'd try to research which one of the two is the least harmful. As far as I know they both use the same technology so I don't believe there is much of a difference.

I live outside of Tokyo, so far haven't had any experience with this new vaxx passport business. Do you need it to get on the Shinkansen, or the JR trains, what about buses?
Alternatively you could try going to the hospital and talking to the doctor, and explain your situation. Like, "hey, i've been paying attention to the news and all of the adverse effects of the vaccine, and nobody seems to be dying from the actual virus, can you give me the paperwork, so I can pretend I got it?".
Do you have any friends and family outside of Tokyo? I don't know if you could find a cheap AirBNB or hotel somewhere, and then hang out for a while. But I think the easiest option would be to tell your wife, "my body, my choice (bitch)" and try to stay where you are would probably be the easiest.
