You beat me to it but I was thinking under 30. At least a very high percentage.
At least you made the effort when it was not pushed in a lesson plan. I went go school mostly in the 80's and you could fail without being able to write in cursive. I was lucky because my mother had beautiful cursive had writing and she taught me well. No offense ment here but can you read an analog clock? Apparently that is a rare thing in the under 30 crowd too. I'm guessing you can because just the fact that you are here and awake puts you light years ahead of you're generation.
Maybe we went to school at similar times, but for us, we were told almost daily in elementary school that the adult world uses cursive and when we got to Jr. high school, we would need to do EVERYTHING in cursive, so it's SUPER IMPORTANT to do EVERYTHING in cursive.
Then, when we got to jr. high, the teachers there specifically told us that it's hard to read, and not to use it ever. High school... same thing.
I always wondered what was up with the elementary school teachers making such a big deal about it only for it to be entirely dropped the moment we left elementary school.
They are under the control of the communist NEA.
Same here when I was in elementary school. One of my teachers even taught us calligraphy. Thanks, Mrs. H.
I'm 24 and I learned the shit out of cursive and learned how to read an analogue clock, all shit that was in school still. I don't remember how to write much other than my name LOL but I can read this with some time
They made us learn it in first grade. 1966.
Analog clock I can read. And I can write and read cursive. I was taught in elementary school that once I got to middle school if I didn’t know cursive I would fail. Then I got to middle school and cursive was extinct lol
If you practice writing it your reading speed will greatly increase
Want a suggestion for practice? Transcribe the constitution. Bet you will remember more of the exact wording after.
My son cant read or write in cursive. He prints everything. Years ago only a retard would print everything. He tried to learn it but the school system screwed him really bad.
Instead of blaming the schools, try parenting. It is ultimately up to you to raise your kids, deffering to the state won't make their lives better.
My kids were raised right, they reject all the bullshat at school and make fun of the retarded teachers. The math common core homework was done using real math, the teachers kept marking it wrong lol. I could go on and on, but he cant write in cursive. He tried and just couldnt do it because the school system failed him.
Probably this, am 32, and was taught curisve in school. I have an 18 year old brother who was not.
