2 companies control 86% of the world's wealth. Blackrock and Vanguard are the majority shareholders of almost every major corporation on this planet. There is no competition or supply struggles, it is ALL manipulated.
I hear this argument over and over, and it doesn't make sense. Vanguard and Blackrock provide mutual funds for people's retirement plans. Those companies don't actually own the shares of publicly traded companies, the people do. Even when there is a shareholder vote, they almost always vote however the public company's management recommends. That doesn't sound like exerting control at all.
Yeah, assets under management does not equal Vanguard and Blackrock own all of the wealth. They’re holding a lot of people’s money.
There is a guy, I believe on utube, he has been following the lumber prices as a contractor and putting out videos on it. Last one I saw he was talking about plywood sheets. Said the price all of the sudden dropped 2 or 3 times in a very short period. And they continue to drop. Maybe they have overplayed their hand and it is biting them in the ass.
If it really is rigged, it can't last forever. Assume there are multiple lumber companies in on the scam. Eventually 1 is going to get greedy and start selling for lower than they agreed upon with the others, maybe through a black market. Then the others eventually break as well.
MOTHER TRUCKIN FREE MARKET GOES BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't post TikTok
it's Chinese Malware
sauce on that? I find that claim believable and would like to know it for sure.
These are what I found from a quick search engine query... China Won’t Accept ‘Theft’ Of TikTok, Has ‘Plenty Of Ways To Respond’, State Media Warns Trump says TikTok sale can go through but only if the US gets a cut careful, cnn gag TikTok will partner with Oracle in the United States after Microsoft loses bid cnn again coughs up a lung ByteDance is walking away from its TikTok deal with Oracle now that Trump isn't in office, report says
I guess Oracle was going to acquire Tik Tok but it fell through when Trump left office so it never happened. The way my sister talked it sounded like it was already a done deal, but I guess not. Still chinese. Yeahhhhhh, thanks, Xiden.
ty for the update
Who understands the construction biz better than anybody? Imagine if we had Trump Unleashed.
Make America Beautiful Again.
This. Really. You can see it in towns that preserved and restored their buildings. Greatness.
Compare that to corporate urban sprawls. Logos line the overused streets, packed with irrate motorists in a desperate hurry to not be wherever they are. McDonalds, RiteAID, Wal-Mart, Shell. Billboards assaulting your eyes for attention, ruining any and every landscape they inhabit. Sterilized corporate Meh-tropolises.
the price of lumber was raised so as to stymie construction which would effect the economy in a negative way. plain and simple. next ask is, where is all that lumber headed? into the NYC metro area or aboard ship, bound for foreign shores. plus where did it come from? is it chinese?
I was talking to the guy who built my fence last fall. He said it is the big box stores where the supply is short. Two pallets at the most. Has to go miles to find wood for jobs sometimes. A lot of the urban areas don't have a lot of traditional lumberjack options - big box is it.
My neighbor is building a house right now. They only have the wood delivered as needed, even though they have the space. Worried about people coming in the middle of the night. (We are in an unincorporated area so it is spread out and dark.)
I am in a smaller rural area. We have plenty of lumber. Fl, though so we haven't reacted like some of the other states hoping for some more of that federal relief monies. that is all this is, manufactured chaos to help their proposal for more money. just like the respirators, "we need 30,000" -cuomo, They found 60,000 hidden in storage.
There were miles of railroad cars loaded with lumber and parked on the tracks along the 99 in Cali last week.
Now it’s a fucking paint shortage. According to Sherwin Williams the raw materials used to make their paint froze in the pipes in the plant in TX and made them explode. No plant, no paint. Shitty time to have a bunch of real estate flips going…
As I understand it it has never been a shortage it has been a supply chain problem that drove prices so high
Not a supply chain problem. Coordinated corruption.
Venezuela model.
Metal markup as well, gets my agent orange acting up
