Cat died, can't do anything until morning, when animal control opens. But frens, don't stop fighting for what is right.
Died right in my room so it's gonna be a bit tough, she was 10 though, and we knew she was on her last leg this past week. Wanted to take her into the vet but it was $500 just to get her in.

Animal control? Wrap her in a warm blanket, find a nice sturdy box, dig a whole, say a prayer, place a cross, done.
That sounds a whole bunch more respectful than having an "expert" chuck it in the dumpster.
God Bless. Q did say something uplifting about our pets. I don't know the post though. They're innocents whose whole being is tied to ours. It's a terrible loss. I think of my chihuahua gone 6 years now daily.

First of all, sorry for your loss.
Second, find a new vet if you get another cat.
We lost a 13 year old female and a 16 year old male recently.
There's no charge for putting down pets at our clinic and we were given all the time we needed in one of their rooms as they passed.
They'll even come to our house for free when our even older dog needs to cross the rainbow bridge.
It's safe to say that kind of dedication to our pets is probably why they lasted as long as they did ... truly superior care.
OK if anyone can read your post without getting tears in their eyes, I'm not sure how that's done. What you wrote is beautiful. I had a very loving orange kitty that we had to put down - long story I won't get into - even after his heart stopped, he kept purring for me. I didn't know that was possible until that day - that's how good of a cat he was, and how much he loved me. Anyone who says cats don't have a soul can suck it.
I love all my animals. We had to put down our 15 year old toy poodle a year ago due to being in the late stages of Congestive heart failure. He was my shadow and is sorely missed. I currently have 4 cats who are all very special to me. Have one here that I bottle fed at 4 weeks of age who will be 18 years old somewhere around Labor day in early Sept. My heart will break when she passes.
I get it, totally. They are absolutely part of the family. It helps to be able to relate to others in this way though, almost like a support group.
That one makes me cry every time. Thanks for the reminder that my hard cold stone of a heart still has a tiny bit of mush left at the center.
As I sit hear pettng my grey faced girl, I weep. Yes she's going blind,yes she has bladder control issues, but I'm not AT ALL ready for that.

She passed away in her family home. The vet was not in the cards for a reason. They may have said they had to keep her for a day or two. She may have had to pass in a strange place.
That sucks. I’m sure someone would have donated $500 for this cause though or atleast contributed to it. Sorry for your loss. :/

Why does animal control have anything to do with her death ? Bury her in a place she loved. They will throw her in a dumpster. All of my pets have had a honored place in our yard. So have countless wild animals that my children have brought home for me to " fix " Mama ain't so good at that, but I tried.
She was an indoor cat, spent all her time in the house. Our yard is a driveway though. Animal control will take her for little to no cost, and if we want, they'll cremate her

I hate to ask a silly question in a time of sorrow, but why do you have to call animal control?
Easiest way for us to send her off to God's kingdom. We pretty much don't have a yard, and the landlord probably won't want us digging in the very little yard we have. They'll take for little to no cost, and if we want, they'll have her cremated for like $50.
Plus, I don't really wanna look at her again, after seeing her the way she was when I found her, it's best for us to just have animal control take of her
Any woods a drivable distance? You know they will just chuck it with no respect. Easier isn't good enough. Sorry for your loss fren.

May God hold u in the palm of his hand. I understand your loss and hope these posts help a little. I know when we have put down 3 previous labs it is very very hard. The last one Chloe had a Rainbow Bridge memorial. The sympathy notes on the Bridge were helpful n my grieving. I now volunteer in my town to drive the kittens and pups to the vet one day a week for shots etc. They r so innocent every single cat and dog. Those young ladies who work at our shelter work hard, sweat. To me they are American at its finest!
I’m so sorry for your loss. I know too well the profound heartache you are feeling, and I will say a prayer for you and your family. Upon losing my beloved companion of 18 years, I had a wise pastor comfort me when I asked him if he believed our pets will be in heaven with us. He asked if I loved my dog, and if she made me happy and brought me comfort. I answered yes, of course. He then said, well God wants us to be surrounded by love, happiness, and comfort in heaven, so she will be there waiting for you. That brought me much comfort, and I hope it can do the same for you.
