So God is not only allowing, but facilitating the abuse of children?
Jesus Christ himself said Satan is the God of this world.
Adam blew it and turned man's dominion over to Satan.
Satan controls all kingdoms, Jesus christ was tempted 40 days and 40 nights.
Satan offered Jesus Christ all the kingdoms of the world IF he would bow down and worship Satan. Christ obviously refused a huge temptation to fix the world by taking Satan's offer of kingship, but he said fuck off Satan.
Guess what Jesus didn't say to Satan?
He never told him they werent his to give. Because they are. Someday , God takes them back, but for the moment here we are and now you know why evil happens on an earth where God has His people living.
Saying God is in control is not true, God needs believing believers to be His hands then He is in control of what that believer is doing for Him.
There is no automatic immunity people, you are not helpless God gave power unto men. HIS PEOPLE. operate it if you know how. Otherwise, it's all sense k owledge bullshit v
So He predetermined that a lot of children would be sexually abused, murdered and/or raped?
Can you show me where Jesus said Satan was the god of this world? I know Peter referred to this statement in 2 Corinthians 4:4. But where did Jesus say this?
As someone asked, please point to a Biblical reference, preferably from Christ's mouth about Satan being the leader.
As I see it, I mostly agree with your stance. Inside the construct God is not in control because he CHOOSES not to be. Arguably outside of what He created, you can make the technical argument that He is. Problem is, that is NOT the argument Christians make. They say "God's in control" to excuse their inaction and justify injustice.
In other words God ISN'T in control. I'm not debating His Sovereignty. Nor will I indulge in hypotheticals and excuses that detract from the overall point. If God is in control, He's not only allowing horrible things to happen, but also ensured they would happen.
Enter Watch Maker Theory: God set in motion a beginning and an end with multiple routes to get there. He authored some events Himself, but all in all wants this to be our story. To see how we react and influence history, which aligns with your point about Free Will. He intercedes on a Spiritual Level through the Holy Spirit but primarily exists outside the Construct.
I do believe we'll get our explanation of why. I do feel there are reasons for everything. Things beyond this existence that are greater than we can comprehend...
What I will not now nor ever accept however is this notion that "God is in control" and then abandon all logic and reasoning with some nonsensical excuse.
God gave us free will. There is sin, and He knows that. Does he condone it? Absolutely not. He wants ALL to repent and come to Him. That’s the whole purpose for dying on the cross. There is evil in this world and we are told that. His Word tells us that our life won’t be easy. There are terrible things happening. The devils powers are strong, but He has already overcome and won. The day will come where they will pay the price.
So you think sin is arbitrarily evil? Then why is it not called evil?
It is evil and it is called evil.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, and against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12
Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided. Proverbs 15:26
Romans talks a lot about evil, and I compare it a lot to what is happening today. Ephesians is also very good. Speaks of the Full Armor of God we need to prepare ourselves with for what is coming.
You get downvoted, but here is a notable flaw with omnipotence.
You can say it's Satan's influence, yada yada yada, but God's omnipotence transcends that otherwise it wouldn't be omnipotence.
So... You probably won't get very many good responses to this, because it creates an error loop and it's really hard to explain away. At least Supernatural could create a silly excuse for God's absence.
It's basic theology. God created good, but he also created the ability to CHOOSE goodness. Without the ability to choose, goodness loses its meaning.
Some choose the way of Satan's temptations and choose to go against God, goodness, etc. There is a spiritual war going on and God is allowing His warriors to fight for this realm.
The bad side is doing all sorts of weird, over-the-top moves which signals to me that they are basically in hail-mary mode. They know they are losing (get woke, go broke).
Too bad it's not that simple.
Well, here's one good response at least
A well reasoned response. I liked a lot of what I read, but it still reverted back to the cycle of Christian thinking that I don't agree with. I do not agree that we are to limit ourselves to the "knowledge of God" but rather knowledge in general. This was created for us to learn and explore.
Also, most people are not in a conscious rebellion to God. They are trying to figure out how to best live their lives. The ones in power, the ones causing all the problems are in active rebellion. The more I think about it, the more I feel that thought process, that all we do is an affront to God is a distraction from the ones who are to blame for human suffering.
EDIT: Basically claiming that all people are in Rebellion is to influence you to focus your energy on your non-believing neighbor instead of those responsible. This is why the Christian Corporation exists. The church provides a distraction from the real problem causers.
I don't doubt there's more beyond what we know here. However to abandon logic and reasoning cause God is "in control" is wrong.
