Durham says Sussman made his false statement to Agency 2 outside of D.C. which takes the venue outside D.C. for another substantive false statement charge to come.
He says only this count was charged because it had to be charged by 9/19 and occurred in D.C.
He's a former federal prosecutor of 20 years so he brings some informed opinions of how things work. He likes to throw cold water on things sometimes also.
idk... lying to the FBI is such low hanging fruit that you pretty much only need to claim it, not prove it (which onto itself is bs). I think the indictment shows the direction of where Durham is going.
