I have a background that includes both writing training manuals and transcribing medical reports. Each requires correct usage of words, and your understanding and usage are correct.
My rule of thumb is if you can replace the word with "infect" and the sentence still makes grammatical sense, then it should be "affect" rather than "effect".
I know someone who died a few days after the shot...heart attack...he was young & healthy.
I also have a family member who has regressed in their mental illness, and another has had “brain fog” ever since the 2nd dose...and he just told me he is due for his booster. God help them 😞🙏🏻
I was on some medication for migraines a few years ago and it caused debilitating brain fog and, for lack of a better phrase, bade my brain lethargic.
The brain fog side effect is, honestly, the most terrifying to me after my experience with that other drug. Well, maybe the scariest non-death side effect that doesn't involve offspring.
So, by that logic, you see 100 people walk off a cliff and plummet to their death on a rocky shoreline, but you can't conclusively put up a warning sign/safety barrier because a clinical trial hasn't been conducted? The narrative has been altered. Studies are performed to eliminate unknown variables to isolate definitive cause. If in doubt, you halt all testing until clinical studies are performed to find out why adverse events are taking place. You place a sign warning people to not approach the cliff. You place a safety barrier and observe the location for why the cliff is prone to people falling off of it. You perform tests to detemine why this cliff is so dangerous. You do not ignore the fact that people are falling off of it because no studies have been performed.
I like Scott's analysis, and listen to his show pretty regularly, but I think his submission to the jab has caused him to pick a side, regardless of how objective he claims to be.
I haven't listened to much since the election fiasco. Actually.... I stopped listening to a lot of people then. Anyone saying it was legit is in my off list.
Vaccine: 1 heart attack 22yo female, 1 brain tumour, 1 heart arrhythmia, multiple people with blood clots + people who have reported ‘brain fog’ and others with disrupted menstruation. This is mostly my sisters immediate circle of idiots.
COVID: mother knows 2 who’s deaths were listed as Covid , 1 who was seriously obese on multiple medications, another who was dying anyway.
Personally I know 2 people who have been diagnosed as having COVID. 1 had the equivalent of a cold, the other had zero symptoms.
57 year-old neighbor just died. 3 weeks after the Vax, uncle died 3 days after the Vax, 57 yonsister of coworker, died 3 days after the Vax, 84 yo mother has hysterextomy 5 weeks after the vax, 82 yo son in laws grandma same thing which is why we think it's the Vax. Other than that I don't k ow except my sister and sister in laws both nurses got very sick after their second shots. My sister went to the er 3 times in 2 weeks sister in law faints now. Both had to retire from nursing. Sonya I guess I k kw folks.
Another thread suggested Officer Sicknick had died from being vaccinated. The other Capitol deaths could also have been due to the vaccine. Scott's a bit late to the party.
Strangely I know quite a few people who had the vaccine and I'm surprised I haven't met anyone yet who seems to have side effects. Everyone is as healthy as ever except for one who had very bad periods. But also same for covid though. Know several people and it ranges from cough to severe flu.
Effected or affected?
I have a background that includes both writing training manuals and transcribing medical reports. Each requires correct usage of words, and your understanding and usage are correct.
In your examples you are not using 'effect' as a verb. Its rarely used that way these days.
effect: to cause or come unto being.
ie: This policy change will effect a 15% increase in productivity.
'affect' as a verb doesn't require the subject to be you personally. It can be used used synonymous with 'influence'
ie. The amount of insulation in the attic affects the temperature in the house during both winter and summer.
pretty sure they misspelled and mislinked 'influence' to effect, when they meant to list the word 'affect' in there.
you can see that their page for effect does not list 'influence' (and it shouldn't because those words are not synonymous)
This is the way.
I had a prof who said:
Remember VANE:
If it’s a verb, use Affect; if it’s a noun, use Effect.
That said, I still don’t think I always get it right.
Effect is a noun...I remember it by saying thE Effect. Notice the e's. Affect is a verb as in something Affected Another...notice the a's.
Effects are things, Affects are Actions. Easy to remember.
The mysteries of grammar elude me.
R...
A...ffect
V...erb
E...ffect
N...oun

Updoot for using "bade". Don't see that very often.
It was actually a typo that I missed, but it actually works, so I'll leave it.
I read this morning that for children aged 16/17 their risk of CV is 1 in 1 million, whereas currently injury from the wakks is 1 in 350!
And yet some are saying it's the best thing ever!
Scott.... asking a question he should have asked a long time ago. Poor guys brain has been scrambled by the drugs and the jab.
Is that your anecdotal experience?
Where is the peer-reviewed white paper showing that anecdotes "prove nothing"?

I loved his commentary on cuties, though.
If he has already taken the vaxx, then it is likely that many of his most enthusiastic followers have gone along with him.
The top responses are cringy, but the further down you get, the more you read about serious adverse effects.
I know many MANY people who "had covid" and never anything worse than a few days cough
Meh, he's well on the way to being as irrelevant as Gary Trudeau. Even his comic strip is mostly rehashes of old jokes now.

No one in my immediately family from my mother's or father's side that has died of "covid".
I do know of 2 family members that did receive injury from the experimental inoculations and both are now going to refuse any future boosters.
There was also another family member with cancer coming back and killing him, but there is no way to prove it was due to the jab.

my mom and three of her friends developed atrial fibrillation this year, all vax’d.
coworker’s husband developed atrial fibrillation also.
what are the odds?
Scott Adams is the definition of overrated.
Love this place, vax discussion lead me to grammer class.
😆
