In an effort to prevent catching covid, I added Zinc Bisglycinate (50 mg) and Quercetin LipoMicel Matrix (250 mg) to my usual Vitamin C, D and Multivitamin regimen.
About 90 minutes later I experienced painful stomach cramps followed by torrential diarrhea. Thank God it didn't manifest sooner as I was driving for about an hour before the cramps started.
I'm a bit gun-shy to try them again, even individually. Thoughts?
I take Zinc and Quercetin every day with no problems and I have a very sensitive stomach...
I think I'll try them again only this time, I will make sure to have a full meal before hand. I'll also try them individually to start.
Shouldn't be a problem if I get diarrhea again as I am currently on unpaid leave and don't have to worry about "Bidening" myself in public.
Honestly, I haven't had the courage to try them again. I hate to think about the cramping that happened last time.
I take mine at night last thing before sleep so if it causes any irritation to my stomach I tend to sleep through it
Wait till you start taking the ivermectin. LOL
I haven't heard of anyone having a bad experience with IVM. Do you have a tale to tell?
No I don’t really have a tail to tail. It’s just that when I started taking it I had some upset stomach problems like yourself. It’s not like that now and I’m still taking it, but still… It will get rid of parasite one way or another. And it’s fantastic for your body. You’ll have more energy, you won’t like super sweet or super salty things, and overall mind clarity. I’m happy to hear that you’re healthy and happy and that things are going well for you. Sorry you had to go through the poops. It happened four times for me and two weeks. I’m still taking the ivermectin but it’s not happening anymore.
I've been thinking of ordering some IVM from India lately.
Check your multi, it might already have zinc in it. I also saw a video on here saying too much C can give you the runs.
Thanks LadyD. I'm only taking 1000 mg of C per day so I think I'm OK there. My Multi only contains 5 mg of Zinc Citrate.
If I experience a notable event again after taking these supplements again, I'll be posting ;)
Maybe try a probiotic and take at night
Try a different formulation of zinc. Zinc Orotate or Picolinate are usually well tolerated and absorb well.
Also 50 mg is a bit high for a daily dose of zinc. Save the higher dose for when you’re sick.
Thanks TP. I'll keep this in mind. My best friend is a personal trainer with shelves full of supplements. I'm sure he'll have both these options available for me.
Sounds like it's working.
When you clean unhealthy crap out of your body, where else did you expect it to go?
Well, I certainly was empty after that experience. I wouldn't be surprised if I lost 3 or more pounds in those 4 hours. Thankfully it ended almost as quickly as it had come on.
I take zinc citrate and quercetin dihydrate with no effects like what you described
Thanks TFA.
What dosage(s) are you taking?
today i did 100mg zinc and 1000 quercetin along with D3 2000iu and C 1000mg but i doubled up today because i forgot to take it on Friday and was exposed to someone with a cold. The beauty of this regimen is it protects against all viral infections not just the kung flu
I take Zinc Picolinate 50 mg, Quercetin with Bromelain 800 mg, and 8,000 mg of D3 every night, (plus a bunch more things). Have for 3 years with no issue.
However when I first tried Zinc, I did so because a blood test showed a possible deficiency. So, I thought, well, I'll take a big dose to get me started.
I took 100 mg and got nauseous real quick. A couple days later, I tried 25mg with no reaction and stayed there for a long while. Since Covid, I have increased my daily dose to 50 mg and that's been fine, also.
So, too much Zinc to start? Or, the wrong kind of Zinc. That's my guess. Good luck!
It makes no sense. Did you somehow take a lot of magnesium??? Lipo-micel could have done it. Fats cause diarrhea. Lipe is fat.
I take zinc/quercetin capsules every day. Make sure you take on a full stomach, zinc makes me super nauseous on an empty stomach
I had this happen with the cheap zinc at the drugstore. Then I switched to a buffered zinc (by Solger). No problems since. I take Zinc everyday and quercetin- Bromilain - C, then C again at night. Now I stocked up on the paste after it made a flu/cold virus disappear in 10 hours last month. Will take a paste dose every two weeks to feel great! Neiggggh! (stomps foot twice).
Thanks PJ. I'm pretty sure I hadn't eaten much, if anything, the day I took the Q&Z.
I got cold sweats/dizzy a few times before I realized what it was 😅
50 is too much bra. Try 25mg. What protocol for prophlaxis has a 50mg dose? I see up to 40mg for the mask+. If taking long term get some copper in there too. Maybe a multi vitamin. Read up more if you have more questions.
Thanks DW.
The Zinc (Natural Factors brand) that I bought comes in 50 mg capsules so...
Maybe I can try opening the capsule and pouring half of the powder into a smoothie or something.
