If it wasn't for cannabis, my mind would have never been open to Q and this movement and lack of an alternate perspective would have kept me from seeing things from multiple facets.
The problem isn't the intoxicating effects of the plant but, rather, the acceptance of a one-size-fits-all definition of sobriety itself.
Perhaps then you should consider why your mind would not have been open. You shouldn't need an artificial substance (meaning, something outside your own body) to find inspiration or truth or anything else.
It was a discovery and not a crutch. Cannabis should never be used for that reason but it can be beneficial to your life, an enhancement if you will. It's just like coffee or anything else one can become dependent on. Hell, I people who can't even function without their morning cup. Interestingly enough, our body has an endocannabinoid system designed to be highly receptive to cannabinoids that aren't produced within the body. I'm not saying that it's for everyone but we're designed to consume it. The problem comes with those who are ignorant on the matter, have little to no experience with cannabis themselves and subscribe to the stigma bolstered by propaganda now proven to be all but riddled with a speck of truth.

Gotta have the right mindset about it. It's really no different than having a little whiskey or blackberry Brandy (one shot and a pair of warm socks, and I'm out like a light) nightcap before bed. Weed smokers get a bad rep because the government tells you "mUH gAtEwaY DRuG", because celebs make it seem like a degenerate thing to do, and those who do abuse it are retarded which makes a bad name for those of us that are productive members of society but would rather smoke a little to take the edge off a long day rather than drinking literal poison for your body. Some people can handle being functionally high all day, and some people can't. Some people get addicted to alcohol, some just really don't. There's bad apples in both bunches but don't let that deter you. Most of my friends are hard working, upstanding men, who coincidentally like to toke up. As do I. We exist, but we're a special breed. Grew up conservative as hell, ingrained to work hard all my life, and then i found and amazing herb that relaxes me at the end of a 10 hour shift and helps brighten my mood if I've had a bad day. Anything can be abused, moderation is a good thing lol

Alcohol and cigarettes have always been the true gateway drugs. Another thing we need to consider is how we define sobriety. Because of cannabis, I've been far more sober than when I'm not under the influence. Heightened emotional response, intense introspection, taking the mind to a higher state of consciousness and being able to have multiple perspectives on a matter are valuable. Weed just unlocks a different spectrum within the universe we call the mind. We were made to consume it, hence the endocannabinoid system and the vast benefits that engaging that system provides.
