Haha - if you’re childhood was spent running barefoot through fields, swimming in a pond 3 miles away (but totally worth the walk), riding ponies and sleeping in the back yard on Summer nights, you’re ready for just about anything.
Did pretty much the same. Was cleaning wood debris out of a hay wagon. My boss had literally just said “Watch out for nails”, and the next instant my foot planted squarely on a nail coming out of a board. It stuck in my bone or between two bones as I had to literally wrench my foot sideways a little and up to get it out. Serious pain, and very bloody shoe.
Merthiolate. My cotton top sister at one point had pink/orange hair because of a cut on the top of her head. We survived all kinds of childhood disasters thanks to that stuff. We weren't allowed to play or swim in creeks or ponds thanks to polio. And Daddy wouldn't let us have snow cream (ice cream made from snow) after a certain point because of nuclear tests fallout.
If we ever wore shoes in the summer they were 10 cents a pair flip flops from Woolworths.
I spent years living on the farm in south GA swimming in two different ponds and a creek. I cringe at the thought of all the nasty bugs I must have been exposed to. We spent most of our time dodging water moccasins and horse flied the size of your thumb.
I bought a few my pillows to support the guy. When they arrived in that little plastic bag all rolled up and I took them out they looked like a dollar store reject. My son started laughing uncontrollable "you got jewed". I didnt see the note to put in the dryer. It took a day but it did fluff up and god damn it is a really comfy pillow.
WHAT? Never knew I was supposed to put mine in the dryer. Haven’t been too happy with the deep head imprint in it that I always have to fluff out. Into the dryer it goes.
haha yea I thought I had bought the worst pillows in history. It was just compressed for shipping. It honestly is one of the best pillows we have ever owned......once it fluffed up haha
Im a mechanic. I cant own anything light colored or white. I can take 3 showers a day. About 3 hours later,i look like i just got done putting a motor in. Sometimes i wish i never got into cars.
As a plumber, I spend probably half my days covered in 10-80 year old, literal shit. I’m pretty sure I’d survive the plague if it came back around.

I hated those damn horseflies. I felt like I’d stay under water for a full minute to get away from them and they’d be waiting for me to come up.
