I want to grow my own, but it's illegal. I have to travel to a legal (liberal) state to get my stash. I could literally be thrown in jail for years if caught. Yet, it's safe (you cannot overdose on it), cost effective, it kills cancer, helps with pain, and is NOT a gateway drug like the prescription drugs your doctor likes to keep you hooked on. It's no more or less recreational than alcohol. It makes a ton of sense to legalize it and Big Pharma has got to hate it because it helps you get off all their crap... and yet only super liberal states have legalized it?? That's insane to me. Why is this important to discuss on this site? Because a lot of you are conservatives like me who enjoy it, but have to remain relatively quiet on the subject except with their liberal 'friends', and that's just outright wrong. I'd love to also open some eyes on here with other conservative, freedom loving types, and see their real take on it... are you really that against its' use? If you had a debilitating illness (like my husband) and you had to take something to take the edge off, do you really judge on whether its a prescription or this perfectly natural substance that could be grown in my own backyard? In a few months, or less, we might all be on our own for a time... and in many ways we already are as we cannot trust the hospitals or clinics, in my opinion. Many of you have stocked up on food, water, etc... in preparation. Have you considered this wonderful plant and the many benefits that it naturally gives to also have on hand? Did you know it helps with anxiety? What happens if you cannot refill your anxiety meds? Not only that but it helps with sleep, pain management, irritable bowel disease, reduces inflammation, and (as already mentioned) combats cancer and who knows what else.

Because of the Bible belt conservatives. My mom was a perfect example. She ended up with terminal cancer. Wouldn't touch the devils lettuce. We literally forced it on her in tincture form after the 180 mgs of OXY she was taking did nothing. It worked. Her opinion changed. There is not a single reason why it should not be decriminalization decriminalization and a legal option for medical use. I wont vote for any politician who is against its legalization based on the terms above.
It's mind blowing to me that cannabis is mentioned several times in the Bible and is a component of holy oil, and still the looks of scorn and disbelief. Alot of residents here are coming around to the fact that it heals. Slowly, but they are coming around. Medical went on the ballot here in 2020 and 74% voted to pass. It is still being held up. I'm watching this like a hawk. The people have spoken.
Evidence suggests that usage stays flat in states that are fully legalized... so, basically, if people want to smoke weed, they already are. It's just not regulated and requires some creative purchasing maneuvers.
This!!

I think it's the opposite they are worried about. When you enjoy weed you start asking questions and in that altered state are more open to alternative ideas and information. In a way I think cannabis helps to lift the veil of the matrix.
💯 smoking helps me see larger, differing perspectives to my own. It doesn’t promote the selfish close mindedness of alcohol
I find that it enhances whatever emotions I had going on that day. If I’m already feeling a little down or antsy I don’t smoke bc it just magnifies those feelings.
Yes that occured to me, also.
Started in 71 1/4 oz was a felony we were just careful and aware Had close calls but no real problems
Also some that are in favor of it still being heavily penalized believe that if it's decriminalized, that people that use it will start using before/while operating any kind of machinery, like driving or operating a forklift.
The police highway patrol says that mostly the problem with stoned people is they drive too slow. I don't ever drive stoned, I know I can't.
Original illegality goes back to the yellow journalism of Hearst, who owned paper mills as well as newspapers. When hemp began to show promise in paper over pulp wood, the 'reefer madness' type campaigns started popping up. Cannabis/hemp banned, paper saved.
Nowadays I think they're still riding off that but because as someone else said pharma hates free competition
It truly is always about money isnt it!
Because (((they))) like money.
It pokes a huge hole in pharma coffers. Follow the money to medical and politics. The slush fund kick backs to keep it illegal are probably enormous.
Anything that isn’t glass or metal can be made from hemp 👌
To sum up why conservatives are against this... they are still struggling to shed the old school mentality of the former GOP. A false puritan, overbearing mindset. To each their own. It's not dangerous. Far, far less harmful than alcohol. Non-addictive. All natural. There is no downside assuming responsible consumption. Only upside.
No one breaks into cars or robs people on street corners to get their weed fix.
You don't want it? Great! Good for you!
You want to smoke a joint every night? Great! Good for you!
Just like alcohol or the vaccine, the mere availability of something is not a requirement to purchase or consume it.
And if the idiotic argument re: "But, muh kids!" is breached - fuck you, learn how to raise your kids and stay involved with their lives.
When it comes to medical decisions and intoxicants, a libertarian approach is the only good approach. As long as it doesn't seriously harm you or cause serious harm of others, the government should have NOTHING to do with it.
yes. we're libertarian on guns and vaccines, time for the party to go libertarian on marijuana too. I don't really enjoy weed but don't see any way that other people using it would affect me negatively.
I was hesitant early on when states were starting to legalize it (driving under the influence, gateway drug, kids having easier access) but those states have proven that there aren't really negative outcomes. I'm all for legalization for adults.
Think of this - drugs being blasted by the media and lots of politicians as the worst thing in the world, worse than slavery that still exists, or murder, or rape, or pedophilia, will necessarily need big government to crack down on.
The right prefers to have small government, so why declare something so bad that you create an entire alphabet soup agency to crack down on it? Isn't that in direct opposition to small government?
It’s not as harmful as alcohol. However, it is mind altering and therefore I do not support it. Should it be legal? If alcohol is legal, marijuana should be legal too.
Caffeine is mind altering. Do you drink caffeine?
Yessir I do. And I used to drink a ton of alcohol too. Used to smoke weed when I was a lot younger. My point is that we should ultimately strive to be better. To think clearer. And to stop being manipulated by the devil and his minions (big business, government, etc).
Gave up that too. So yes.
This is my stance on it - I understand those who feel they should not for religious reasons but if Alcohol and Cigarettes are legal then marijuana should be too. Weed has shown to have way more medical benefits than alcohol and cigarettes.
I do think its really a lot of the tobacco and alcohol industry lobbying to keep it federally illegal because I would imagine a lot of people would divert money from buying liquor and cigs to buying weed. We saw this already happen with the vaping a few years ago when all the rage was about how vape pens could blow up in your face etc.
Actually there were a bunch of bootleg Dank brand vapes that killed a few kids
That’s very fair. I am in agreement with this.
I’ve used it for years to help keep my seizures away. All it takes is 1/4 tsp dry bud and I’m good. My dog also takes his “doggy CBD” for his seizures. We’ve both had success so far (: I’ve been into holistic stuff for years though, after I had horrible reactions to pharmaceuticals in my early 20s I’m NEVER using them again. It took years to get my body back to a healthy state after just six months of the pharmaceuticals |=
Cbd is completely different and a better medicine it has almost zero thc. Are you eating it? This might actually be 100x better then smoking it for your brain imho.
The government should be involved in this question!
Don't turn this into a debate on whether it is "good for you" or "bad for you" because that accepts the assertion that the government has a right to decide what you can have access to based on its merits. The role of the government ought to be to make sure that there is uncensored access (freedom of the press) to information about the merits and faults of anything, and you decide.
People have the right (and spiritual obligation) to decide for themselves what they take into their bodies (and minds).
I am pro re-legalization. Adamantly.
I used to smoke it recreationally; in my 20s heavily, in my 30s socially, in my 40s rarely, and not for the last 4 or 5 years, although im around smokers regularly and offered it. I just dont trust myself not to revert back to a goofy first timer if i do partake lol!! I dont think I could 'maintain' AT ALL.
You are correct that it is only illegal because Pharma wants to eliminate the superior competition.
You literally described me. Am I you?
We should have a post-Awakening toke session meet up and see who freaks out first. I bet I will win.
😆
Grow your own and don't tell anyone. I am doing it and it's illegal. Police are not going to raid your house. How would they even find out? When you grow your own you can use a carbon filter and it will not smell in your house at all. It is not that difficult and makes enjoying cannabis all that much better. Cannabis has been a miracle for me. It helps me manage my emotions and let loose in an insane world. There is plenty to learn from on Youtube
Beginner grow guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clKKpSx72Ec&ab_channel=Mr.GrowIt
Buy seeds here https://ilgm.com/
Mr Growit is good. So is Kali Grown and Welcome To The Grow Tent. Seed Cellar in MI is a very good source for seeds. New420SeedGuy is another I have used. He takes Venmo...Seed Cellar needs a check or money order.
Get genetics from your deadhead buddies
Maybe its my genetic makeup, but it is not addictive to me, but neither is anything else. I had 'covid' for 3 weeks and didn't touch the stuff, and never even felt withdrawal. I'm the same with alcohol.. take it or leave it. We do get it from a medical marijuana facility so maybe the stuff we get is in more pure form. I imagine it is risky to get it on the streets. I don't 'need' it as much as my husband surely does as he had encephalitis (west nile type) from a mosquito and has daily headaches, fatigue, etc... and this is the only thing that helps him. I'm more speaking for those who really do need it and can't access it without potential trouble. I have a friend who was dying of cancer... went through all the treatment protocols, radiation, chemo, etc... Literally put out a post saying she was done and going to die. I sent her some RSO mmj and she's back in the game doing great. Her brother now makes it for her in a legal state and sends it to her in an illegal state.
Former heavy smoker for a decade+. Currently work in the industry.
I think it’s different for a lot of people but for me it was more a habit than actual addiction. I was mostly self-medicating adhd/anxiety with it rather than simply enjoying. I was smoking all day every day for years.
I quit when I wanted to with the only physical repercussions being that I was really sweaty while sleeping for about a week and dreams were crazy. Cravings weren’t overly strong, I just occupied time with other, more productive things. I occasionally get an urge to smoke here and there but it is very fleeting and doesn’t bother me at all. I likely will use recreationally when I have other things in life up to my standard.
It definitely can make you lazier and affect executive dysfunction but with adhd my executive function suffers as is so that may be exacerbated in my case.
It’s like anything including alcohol - constant daily use is abuse and will have negative effects. Using here and there is great and can even be beneficial in some regards.
It was easily broken when I actually wanted to. So by your definition, it’s not addictive.
I have a habit of working out and lifting weights. It would be hard to break that habit because it’s something I enjoy and like to do. That does not make it an addiction. I could stop if I wanted to but would rather not. It’s a habit that I enjoy so I continue to do it.
I would never advocate it for young people and would agree it can be highly detrimental for some. Same with alcohol. Addictive? Borderline / maybe but would say not so much overall from experience.
Dude I'm fifty years down the road and doing fine I smoke mine edibles way to strong
Back when it was all imported there were ocasional supply chain issues with gmo it's around year round I don't quit ever u less sick
I believe they feel this way because they have not tried it.
Just as propaganda has done its job on the Wuflu it has also done its job with marijuana. The health side of this whole show is what woke me up.
I was mis-diagnosed for so many years with high blood pressure, adhd, fibromyalgia, depression, migraines, and anxiety. I’m young, healthy, and have no reasons whatsoever to have been taking the meds I was taking. With the diagnosis of “fibromyalgia” I purged my system of all meds and introduced marijuana, meditation, yoga, acupuncture, and food choices. The meds they wanted to put me on with no clear reason as to why is what did me in. I knew in my heart my “fibromyalgia” was rooted from something else and my doctor would not listen to me.
I am off ALL meds and don’t have to go to my doctor every three months and have a “visual check” to make sure I’m not strung out on the stimulants they had me on. Did I feel good on adderall, hell yeah! Did it take away my ability to think for myself, express my creativity, and see the world around me as a joke. Yep.
My theory is people with ADD have a healthy pineal gland. “They” want to shut that down at all costs. This could be why so many are now diagnosed with adhd and are put on stimulants.
When I began seeing that food is medicine and worked on my pineal gland health everything fell into place. I feel great! I look great! I’ve lost weight and I don’t even try.
I have “fibromyalgia” flares when I eat processed foods, stop taking care of my body with food, vitamins, and meditation. I takes work. But it’s worth it. Trust me. Working on you pineal health is huge and something doctors have NO idea about.
I’m a breakfast, lunch, and dinner user when it comes to this wonderful God given plant, and no one would ever suspect it.
Could you please elaborate about pineal health?
Fluoride calcifies the pineal gland
Here’s a good article and video that answers a lot of questions.

Don't grow outside...bugs, weather, smell, etc. Grow indoors in a grow tent.
Fuck the tent open air in basement
We used to make rick simpson oil for my dads lukemia. It seemed to work. But he went back to conventional treatment. He lived with lukemia for over 13 years. He smoke weed all day everyday and was always working a something.
the deep state knows its easier to take over a country full of high people lol
Opium and Cocaine are also natural substances derived from plants that could be grown in the back yard
Opium and Cocaine need to be HEAVILY concentrated and processed to obtain those effects. That's like making castor beans and potassium illegal because they can be converted into dangerous substances.
Weed can be plucked off of the plant and consumed as-is.
You could chew on coca leaves all day and it would be similar to a cup of covfefe. Very big difference from grinding up hundreds of pounds of coca leaves and using solvents to extract the cocaine, dry it, pulverize it, etc. (Similar to poppy/opium production).
Argument doesn't hold water.
covfefe.. lol
Oh so then medical and recreational dispensaries don’t sell hyper concentrated forms of THC, such as wax, extracted via chemical process. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. FYI, nobody gives a shit about weed anymore, even in states not YET legalized, cops don’t even give a damn, grow some weed, smoke up, eat some Cheetos, fondle your balls, and stop trying to perpetuate a non-argument, ahem, discussion.
Sure, and you can get stronger coffee too...
You still can't OD on THC. You'd die from caffeine or nicotine before THC. Same w/ coke and opium/opiates.
So, yeah, you can have the cake and smoke it too.
You eat two "stoneos" (store bought thc oreos) you may just die lol
They don't have the medicinal effects, and are certainly more addictive. I don't find this addictive AT ALL. Can take it or leave it.
Obviously you don’t want a discussion, you just want everyone to agree with you.
If your backyard is mountainous peru
Because some people called it the "devil's lettuce," so the super hardcore Christians (yes I'm going there) declared a crusade against it. Also because paper barons didn't want to lose their monopoly to hemp.
It's amazing how Trump caused both sides to mostly do a 180º on their views - we were in favor of going into the middle east again, now we're against it. We were in favor of the production, use and selling of drugs being heavily penalized with large fines and lengthy prison sentences, now we're realizing that big government is bad.
Mislead people = wrong-lead people.
These people still have to read Genesis 2.
To those with the inclination to stand on prohibition of these gifts from the Creator: God made THC + CBD. Men made Beer. Who do you trust?
The same goes for DMT. Also a natural product.
But beer though...
It works and it doesnt work. Sometimes it can produce excess anxiety.
Im not hater. My whole family partakes
The "anxiety" is cause it's illegal
Not in Michigan.
I love the irony of federal vaccine mandates and legal marijuana. Its a dichotomy i dont think many people are willing to examine.
This topic is a perfect example of why labels like conservative and liberal are wrong.
It's also more complicated than you're admitting, because MJ is not totally harmless. It may be just for certain subgroups, or based on age of introduction, but potheads don't make their families proud any more than alcoholics do. (And don't kid yourself: plenty of potheads would happily sell magic brownies to your 8-year old walking home from school. And they do.) There is a real issue of societal decay from legalization. Doesn't mean it should be illegal, but it does mean that the debate is not black & white.
I do believe an analysis of the demographics of pot legalization voters would be interesting. But it's fairly off Q, only slightly related due to the big pharma angle.
As a libertarian I don’t see why it shouldn’t be legal, even if I don’t partake.
That being said, I am against a lot of other drugs being legalized. You can’t convince me that meth or heroin should be legal. Marijuana is a plant, however. I guess that would open the discussion to shrooms? Gosh man. Such a topic.
Alex Berenson has written an excellent book about this, showing pot is not benign and is a cause of serious mental health and violence issues. This is one more thing we have been lied to about. The ds is using this to make $$$$$$$$ of us, keep us docile, break and control our brains and probably poison us.
Tell Your Children: The Truth About Marijuana, Mental Illness, and Violence https://www.amazon.com/dp/1982103671/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Y23P21H66J4Y4HP6QC18
This is pure ignorance. Cannabis doesn’t have the ability to send you into such a state of mind. You don’t just “check out” from reality and go insane. I’ve never ONCE felt violent when consuming.
I dunno ...just watch Reefer Madness the 1936 version or the 2015 musical version. Seems legit to me. wink, wink.
You still don’t just go insane.
Tech your wrong anything that altars your mind makes you insane.
Issue here is that unlike his work w/ COVID - which is heavily vetted given the current landscape, his book re: Marijuana was a throwback to his NYT tenure. Not sourced at all, very loose connections, almost entirely speculative and assumption based. Very little science here outside of some quotes from experts.
One could look at net rates of violence in States/Countries that have legalized weed for instance... how do you explain the drops in violent crimes? Certainly not from his book.
Well, that was the liberal/progressive/msm narrative about it, when msm was making him a piarrah and trying to discredit him. The same progressives who push ds stuff so hard have pushed for legalizing weed just as hard, and just that should make you ask why. They aren't being evil and trying to kill us with everything else and being super benevolent with pot.
Worst book ever. Author has an agenda.
This same author has been super woke with all the ds/reset/vax/lockdown agenda. He boldly speaks against it all.
Lies all lies all my friend's party and are super productive and not crazy
Yeah, everyone's feelings always get hurt when you even suggest that their pot may not be good for them
No it's just that personally I have partied for 50 yrs w no bad effects and having a non smoker expert preach gets old
Totally
For me, it’s unnecessary. I get no enjoyment or benefit from it, and it basically turns me into a bump on a log.
So far as I’m concerned, if liberals like it, I’m against it. I’d love national laws that not only ban the drug but require a mandatory life sentence for its possession, just to see the liberals squirm.
Probably stoned ; )
speaking of "possession" ...
You might need an exorcism... your hatred seems demonic.
I wish you well.
Just one of my seizures takes me out for the day.. I’d really like to keep living without thinking I’ll be jailed for using an herb for healing |:
CBD oil it is then.
Congrats! You just set the daily benchmark for the dumbest thing I've read all day. Let's see if someone can top it!
Cons are it makes people hypochondriacs, acts as a crutch so you live in the past, masks your true self so you can’t deal with life, here’s the big one makes ya narcissistic. The only positive that out weighs that temporarily is you can’t be mind controlled while on it ( most pot smokers are based.) side note all medical marijuana is farmed by the cabal which is basically like supporting the evil team. But if you grow your own and smoke a joint once a week or month I’m sure in that moderation it wouldn’t harm ya ( most smokers need the cruch as often as coffee drinkers,)
How does it make your narcissistic
The term originated from someone who has control issues derived from narcotic use. Hence narc issitic. It being a narcotic obviously when you use it everyday it makes you think different most of the information I learned in health class about drugs 20 years ago you can’t find anywhere which from experience as a reformed user after self reflection has confirmed so much.
I think the term originated from mythology
Very interesting.
