Trump initiated with multiple Tweets in the prior months. I remember - that's why I went.
The worst thing we did was trespassing.

- refused American citizens access to a fair and speedy trial
- withheld 14,000 hours of video evidence
- formed a investigative committee and gave it unlawful powers
- ignored FBI agents, Antifa, the bomber, and other instigators
Can we please STOP talking about J6 as if it was a mistake or that we should have done something differently?
That's a LIE.
We were there to disrupt a staged revolt. It was successful.
We need to free our men from prison.

You have to remember what Trump said at Jan. 6th.:
“We had an election that was stolen from us. It was a landslide election, and everyone knows it, especially the other side. But you have to go home now. We have to have peace. We have to have law and order. We have to respect our great people in law and order. We don’t want anybody hurt.”
He later tweeted: “I know how you feel, but go home and go home in peace. I know you’re in pain. I know you’re hurt.”
I believe Trump was at GREAT personal risk when he gave the speech on Jan. 6th. It was likely one of the most dangerous moments for him. There was a reason why it was important for him to say EXACTLY what he said... and then leave quickly.
According to the Insurrection Act, Title 10, §§ 251-255 of the United States Code:
Whenever the President considers it necessary to use the militia or the armed forces under this chapter, he shall, by proclamation, immediately order the insurgents to disperse and retire peaceably to their abodes within a limited time.
10 USC § 254
Section 254 requires the President to immediately order the insurgents to disperse and go home.
Section 251 – Federal aid for State governments
Whenever there is an insurrection in any State against its government, the President may, upon the request of its legislature or of its governor if the legislature cannot be convened, call into Federal service such of the militia of the other States, in the number requested by that State, and use such of the armed forces, as he considers necessary to suppress the insurrection.
Consider the EXACT words used by President Trump. Why would he have quickly gone to the podium, delivered a few minute speech stating exactly what he did... and then leave quickly?
HE said exactly what needed to be said according to the Insurrection Act.
And, remember, THIS little 90 second address was what got him removed from Twitter. They tried to delete it as fasts they could.
You do realize that J6 was a set up by Pelosi and the FBI to entrap Trump supporters and give RINO's the cover they needed to vote to skip the debates on Fraud that were scheduled that afternoon, correct? Trump was well aware of their plan and their effort to paint him as responsible, which is why he went out of his way to say what he did. The debates would have uncovered the fraud, 3 states had already asked for their electors to be returned for 10 days while they investigated. It would have been impossible to give cover for not allowing this. By staging the "insurrection", they could all feign outrage for nothing other than some folks wandering around the building and vote to skip the debates. Remember, it wasn't the Dems who were responsible for that vote passing, they were always going to vote to skip the debates, it was the RINO's who needed cover and they got it.
I am starting to think their plan was to take out Harris on the 6th. As they were certifying. Because if the pipe bombs etc they said they found.
And in the chaos of sympathy, they would be able to usher in their actual choice for VP. (not the diversity hire).
But the dirty double cross from the white hats removed the cover for the false flag and they got stuck with Harris.
Biden can’t resign, because then she’s pres. she can’t step down, because a replacement now can’t be approved.
the supreme court nomination is a way to get her out of the mix without looking like she was the diversity hire that she really is.

I've never understood this.
The insurrection act would require POTUS to tell the insurgents to disperse. True.
But the group labeled as insurgents is the one the act is targeting.
So he can't look at you, identify you as insurgents, and then turn around and arrest Biden on that basis. Because he wasn't telling Biden to go home, or if he was, it wasn't in a way that was legally significant, because Biden wasn't even there. He didn't tell Biden to disperse. He told his supporters to disperse.
The insurrection act doesn't allow the POTUS to tell one group to go away, and then target a completely different group with insurrection powers. The insurrectionists are the ones identified when POTUS tells them to disperse.
Which means his own supporters. Which means if the insurrection act was signed, the targets were his own supporters. Because that's who he was addressing.
What am I missing? Because if Trump was not talking to his supporters, despite standing in front of them, despite addressing them directly, despite having invited them there, then legally, it wouldn't have been considered a legal address to the "true" insurrectionists. Because nobody could possibly know that at the time.
There's speculation the video telling people to go home was prerecorded at an earlier time. He wasn't telling his supporters to GTFO, he was telling panty-fa to GTFO.

If the point was to do things legally and by-the-book, then this wouldn't hold up in court. If the insurgents can legally say that they were not aware they were being told to disperse because of some 5D trickery by Trump and pre-recorded messages, then they were not legally told to disperse. So IA would be invalid.
If a cop is facing away from you, down the street, talking to someone else, and tells you to put your hands up, and you don't, then you're going to win in court if he shoots you. Because there is no way to prove you knew you were receiving an order from the police. You thought they were talking to someone else.
Seems silly to go to all the trouble of doing this by-the-book and then risk it all on hoping the judge won't care that you fulfilled the order to publicly, openly tell people to disperse... secretly...
At any rate, the qualifications for the Insurrection Act were fulfilled by Trump telling them to disperse.
I think he would have invoked it after 11.3, not J6.

His followers didn't really break any laws, other than some trespassing if you can get that to stick. So there isn't much concern there.
The other parties were actually guilty.
A court could distinguish between groups and dole out justice accordingly.
EDIT Just saw your augment about "I know your pain." I think the out for that is that he was addressing "the crowd." The reality is people didn't go home, so they actually have the ability to investigate. Investigating a Trump supported is going to lead nowhere, at worst you might catch them with trespassing. But if you investigate someone and it turns out they were undercover FBI... Well, that gets to be interesting pretty fast.
The blanket statement gives him the ability to move forward and narrow things down as needed through the investigation. I think the courts will respect that. And his statement is reasonable, he could always say that at the time he was addressing the crowd. By the time we get into this, I think we'll be more awake and be aware of what really happened anyway

Trump had to do it by the book letting the foreign backed coup succeed. His advice to the crowd was also sound. Look what they are doing to those who failed to follow it. If Pence had upheld the protest or certifications from states in question the plan would have continued. Pence did not; the plan continues.

The die was cast on January 6th when Pence issued his letter claiming his hands were tied. The letter was only necessary for one purpose; to make it plausible that MAGA had motive to storm the Capitol.
Absent that letter and any other public pronouncements, Pence could have presided over the Electoral Count in a way that appeared he was ensuring a fair hearing. Pence could have prolonged the proceedings until the majority of MAGA was making their way home.
Each Republican challenge would been defeated due to the Democrats having more seats. Sometime late in the evening when people had long since moved on he could have ruled he did not have the Constitutional authority to act unilaterally. Meanwhile, knowing the emotional impact of that statement he should have been crusading for heightened security.
Now to your point MAGA has nothing to hang their heads about, total agreement. Pence irresponsibly and intentionally poured gasoline on an already explosive situation. Still, the vast majority of of MAGA members in D.C. that day did not fall for the trap that was set. The false flag failed, otherwise there would be no need for the Unselect Committee.
Trespassing is not relevant when they let people in and unlocked the doors from the inside. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the patriots at the event it was the Capitol police/ antifa/ blm/fbi/ deepstate actors both R and D and paid provocateur's that created the narrative and disruption but to this day I believe in good faith good people stood up to save this country. You are right the men need to be freed from prison.

Well said, the vast majority of the people there acted very wisely. They worked hard to frame as an "insurrection" it failed and is falling apart.
Even the guys that went inside were fine. There is well documented history of people going inside. The cops literally let them in.
