No. This is clear over reach. They have no right to do this unless her funds are legally managed by a payee or conservator. Unless a judge in a court of law has somehow sequestered her bank records and they froze the funds. But otherwise a bank can’t just take a personal side…….unless you’re PayPal and you decide to freeze customers that buy or contribute to a Patriot endeavor….but that’s a different subject.
Wells Fargo claimed they relied on reports of the financial advisor, “who has recently witnessed tell-tale signs of exploitation, including the petitioner’s own expressed apprehension.>
Then the proper thing to do is call the police. A financial advisor is NOT a medical expert
There was a case in Lake County, CA about 10 years ago where they convicted the advisor of fraud; prosecution basically insisted he should have known the client had dementia. It was BS and the case was overturned on appeal - but not before the guy lost everything. Judge really had it out for the guy. I talked with a couple of different attorneys about it and they were shocked. Said it never should have got that far. A prime example of the power of the government.
Who had signature authority? In fairness, I am thinking someone missed a step in the banking authorization signature transfer process. After all, it would be a little much to assume a celebrity would know the banking process.
Banks can and do call the local authorities if they suspect there are problems - a big one is financial elder abuse. It happens a lot. The local authorities are then tasked to investigate, but it gets sticky because the vast majority of time, it is a family member involved and the elder is generally uncooperative her because they are afraid of the abuser or they just don't want to believe that person is capable of being such an ass...
Certainly over-reach but tbf Wendy Williams is a raging alcoholic, still her money though so they have no right to deny her the use of it regardless of the proof of that use.......................

Screw Paypal.
You can say that again.
OK. Screw Paypal.
You're right. I noticed it, too.
She'd had health problems before and was adamant about NOT taking the jab. So of course they tormented her to get her to conform.
Too bad she didn't stick to her guns.
I guess now banks are medical doctors making a diagnosis without a medical license or an exam?

Wells Fargo is bad. Be warned.
Well, keeping all your money in a bank, especially all in the same bank seems pretty nuts to me.... they might be on to something
