I think many of them still assume they are untouchable. Until now, they have not faced a single real repercussion for their blatant crimes for their entire lives. Here they go saying "our democracy" again. I don't think they understand what a democracy is. A "democracy" requires transparency, and 2020 has been anything but. I think the word they're looking for is oligarchy.
