There was a cool one as part of the Mensa test. It looked like a series of math questions, but once you figured the pattern to find the answers you didn't have to do the math! Thank god or else I wouldn't have done very well🐸
Good one.
Inconceivably, I actually saw the actor in an airport once.
I didn't want to bother him like a fanboy, so I got his eye and acted like I was drinking out of a poisoned cup, sticking my tongue out and rolling my eyes....and then gave him the thumbs up. LOL
Lol no :) & it wasn't a pattern to the answers. It was a pattern to the way you could figure each answer. I can't recall the details, but remember going from "oh shit" to "cool!"
That's pretty neat. Got a smart friend who was interested in taking the test until he realized it wasn't free. He always says he's smarter than the folks in Mensa because he wasn't dumb enough to pay for bragging rights lol.
You used to be able to do the home tests for free (UK / Ireland in the late 1980s). They’d send out a pack, you do it in <30 minutes, then post it back. They’d send you back the results. Not supervised or anything, but free (just paid postage) & yes by Mensa headquarters in the UK.
The real test cost money so no, never did it. Was just curious & did two home tests spaced 18 months apart. 3 points difference between them.
It's true. After taking it once and getting 110 (boo), I suddenly wondered if this other logic applied as well, and not just simple maths or whatever false impression I was under.
I retook the test and added +20 points to score a lean IQ of 130.
I took the ASVAB. Then they gave me several other tests.
I saw people sitting next to me and leaving after 20 mins. I was there for Almost 3 hrs. Then they stopped me in the middle of things and took me aside.
“You finished the ASVAB so we gave you other tests. Your Empathetic Social Score was off the charts as were everything else. We want you to go into Air Force Military Intel as an Officer GS-8. You can choose your station, base, do whatever you want to work on. We have the best toys around.”
They wanted me to go to Rammstein.
Anyone know why? It was around 2000 when this happened. I still don’t know why Air Force or why Rammstein.
They wanted you to go into something Intel/psyop related, my first guess.
Why?
As warfare became an irregular fight for the minds of the people, things 'of the mind' aka psychological operations were considered things 'of the air'.
Ideas 'in the air' like the 'cloud' which is Intel.
And so Psyops are based in the Air Force.
Rammstein on foreign soil w/ special conditions would have cover, and where you might be stationed and in what capacity would be determined by their view of the results of your training and your abilities like maybe languages you might already speak.
Actually - damn - I never thought about that. You're dead on, 2EyesOpen. I don't recall having a conversation with them about Germany - if I recall I took a language portion in the battery and absolutely had some questions in german and i am just now remembering this. They were randomly in a section and my brain just read them without clicking they were in german ( i can read / speak it ).
Duh.
Interesting take on Air Force. I figured that had a possible connection into INTEL - It would make a ton of sense to have a big SIGINT / HUMINT base there for entry into MILINT right? Being a huge NATO hub.
I finished the ASVAB in the top 2% in Oakland county MI....I never got any additional tests...just constant nagging from a recruiter, who btw was named Sgt. Carter.
What's crazy is I took amphetamine before the test and killed it on decoding decryption but I am Asperger's anyway so whatever but honestly I would not have stayed focused otherwise
They had a section on the ASVAB (military's entrance test) for Pattern recognition at least when I took it.
It's common for iq tests. Been seeing them pop up in my YT shorts feed.

I once took a mensa test against a Sicilian. I was told to never bet against him. He died a poisoned death.
I see what you did there, MAGA. LOL!!!

Inconceivable!
My old boss said he was a member of Mensa. He was great at corporate strategy and making loyal customers, so I learned a lot from him.
BUUUUT..... I'm having my doubts now because he hated President Trump and got all his shots. 🤷♂️
Lots of intelligent morons out there😁
Ask him if he has heard of Womensa. If not, suggest he start the first chapter and lead it. He'll probably take the bait.
Was it multiples of 3?

Sweet! That's cool you were able to take the test again! I thought they we're fussy about that🐸
