I think Elon got a chance to see how big of a dumpster fire it really is. Either we are going to see him buy the lot and do with it what he wants, or we'll see him sell and watch it burn to the ground.
I halfway suspect it is a feint move to distract from what his real move may be.
He has always had an to grind against hedge funds that short companies into the ground. He may swoop in but a bunch of GameStop to lock the float igniting the MOASS which will annihilate many short hedge funds. Past tweets seem to indicate he may know about the GameStop situation. He suspiciously sold about $10B of his assets a few months ago to do what exactly? He used 2B on the twitter. I wonder what the rest is for?
This is awesome! If you’ve been watching him lob bombs on Twitter this weekend, this enables him to keep throwing them. As a board member wouldn’t he have been subject to SEC rules? Now he remains unconstrained.
Ohhh..., this reeks of PANIC! I've been absolutely NOT trusting Musk for many years now and have posted same opinions many times... But... This type of comms absolutely points to him being a "flipper". Fascinating!
You don't need to run a background check on someone running multiple billion dollar companies when they've already got govt clearances, not to mention any of the hundreds of background checks you would have to undergo just to get to that point which he's clearly passed
It reeks of comms, like to get on the board and be trusted they need to run the background check, which is really "how loyal is he to our cause?"
A lot of triggers will go off, if someone with a TS or higher clearance; goes to an effort to hide a suspect activity (such as drug use, homosexuality, crossdressing, etc).
But, if they do it out in the open (like on a live recorded session that is broadcast to the public), there isn't anything they can be blackmailed with. That's the big fear, blackmail and extortion.
Not only that but he is not keen on having his ventures steal all his time away and practically imprison him with crushing levels of responsibility. This guy has to be an absolutely excellent delegator. . But people to trust that much? I don't think "trust" is possible in business or politics. He has to really watch out for betrayal. Like another highly successful brainiac we know.
I'm one to absolutely hate when we throw around the "distraction" label. But, could Truth Social be an actual distraction while the actual move to fix free speech on the internet could be a Twitter takeover and a FEC election investigation on Facebook?
Exactly. It means they would have legal routes of potentially pressuring him into doing shit he didn't wanna do. Being an owner but not a board member gives more freedom in certain respects.
I have been following Alex Berenson's lawsuit against TWIT on his Substack. Their lawyers are throwing crap at the wall to get it to stick. I did not know, about the Pruneyard and Laguna Publishing case law.
Twitter is scared shitless.
Yes they are!
Some serious Nadlering going on.
Damn! Didn't know that could be expressed in text form.
Sounds like Nadler and the gang could start a fart band when they are in prison.
I agree with Elon I think it’s dying.

Or my tin foil is on a bit too tight today.
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
That's a lot of "shut the fuck up" money. Whatever he does, I bet it ferociously stirs the pot.

Why does this hint at him buying the entire company?
The company bylaws cap how much stock board members can own. It keeps him at something like less than 14 or 15% ownership of the company.
There's also rules on what he can and can't say publicly (like the emai said) that could be construed as trying to influence the stock price.
Cool thanks

That part stood out to me as weird.

The board would have trapped Elon.
Once he's on the board he legally has certain obligations he has to perform for the company too.
He must have realized they were trying to trap him that way and bounced.

Yeah, with DWACs help, I hope....
That's all I can hope for.
Imagine if he dumped all the stock at once, it would tank the company.
I hope he does this.

Elon joining the board: the best
Elon deciding to not join the board: also the best
They got themselves all worked up last week that him being on the board was The End of the WOOOORLD!
Now we get to watch them get even more worked up that him not being on the board is The End of the WOOOOORLD!
As a fiduciary he would have had legal financial responsibilities he might not have wanted. How much did his stock cost? Does he anticipate a dip?
Exactly. It means they would have legal routes of potentially pressuring him into doing shit he didn't wanna do. Being an owner but not a board member gives more freedom in certain respects.
It went up after the news
When you are on the Board of Directors; there are limits placed as to when, and how much stock you can buy.
“Pravda” means “truth” in Russian. Watch what is about to happen with $DWAC. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/999367582271422464?s=21&t=jPJF-p6v9fcltT3YoFb_Fg
Good catch
Panic in the boardroom!😂🤣🙌
Probably buy them out and sack everyone on that board
"For the best"
= Oh devil I hope he doesn't buy a controlling interest.
It wouldn’t make sense to spike the price of the stock and then buy the company. Unless the deal was already done before that news went public.
Short the mofos
Last paragraph says a lot...

If I were an employee, I would be looking.
"Lets tune out the noise, and stay focused on the work and what we're building".
Yea good luck you Commie fuckheads. The noise will be deafening!! Your perverted work and hidden agenda will soon come to an end.
background check? thats curious no?
When you've smoked dope on Joe Rogan I don't think background checks are of concern to you.
............. it's afraid.............
